What a uniquely lovely place this is. Ric and Diga greet you with unforced warmth and generosity and make you feel instantly at home. Their house is fabulous - spacious yet cosy and filled with Diga's delightful artworks - breakfast is a feast, and Ric and Sara the adorable one-eared Alsatian do a fascinating guided tour of the Mezaparks area....

We liked the sound of this B+B and were not disappointed. The location in one of the most celubrious suburbs of Riga is fabulous. I love the tram access to town. The cooked breakfasts were excellent. The only upgrade I would recommend is to mount the upstairs shower at a normal height. When we come back to Riga we hope...

Homestay delivers on the hype. The away from center of town location is no problem once you ride the tram once. The breakfast is great and the hosts are very personable and interesting. The pets are very nice, especially for those travellers that are missing their own. Ask for the neighborhood tour!

Myself and my partner spent three nights at Homestay in March. We were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived. The house itself is really nice and homely and it looked great in the snow. We really enjoyed Ric's local tour and his knowledge of the area. Homesaty was a nice distance from the city. We could...

Advertised as a home from home, the friendliness and hospitality of the hosts Ric and Diga was simply amazing, two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Nothing was any trouble, you were made to feel welcome from the moment you first crossed the doorstep until you departed feeing like part of the family. Upon arrival we were...

Just come back from a 4 day stay with Diga at the Homestay. Unfortunately Ric was away on business so we didn't get to meet him but we loved our time there. Everything other people say is true. It really does become your home in Riga. The only down points have been mentioned before, the bathrooms are shared and it...

Homestay is extremeley unique, and offers a place to stay that is so far removed from the norm. We were picked up from the airport by the taxi that Ric and Diga had arranged, and the driver was very pleasant, and we started to learn things about the city right away. On arrival, you are made to feel at home,...

My girlfriend and I stayed there for 4 nights and the hospitality began before we had even arrived: a taxi was booked to transport us from the airport to Homestay at a discount rate. Within minutes of arriving we were drinking coffee with Diga who supplied us with all the info we needed to get in and out of town,...

Ric's and Diga's home is heaven. They should triple prices now!! Just to enable them to take time off from us silly travellers! I cannot imagine how they can keep up such warmth and hospitality day in day out. Like the previous reviewer noted, they really get personally involved. Truly likable warm wise people. Be good to them!! T.Rauha

Homestay was a little less, but also much more than I expected. The less part: their literature promises internet access, sat t.v., laundry... The internet was available, but the public t.v. was occupied by the football match, and while we did our laundry (with generous assistance from our host), I felt like I was imposing. The other negative was that...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
HOMESTAY is where we live. Our house is a friendly eco-build log house in the leafy diplomatic suburb of Mezaparks; Europe's first Garden City. We usually do a free tour of the Art Nouveau and Deco buildings after the best cooked breakfast in Riga. We have 1 large double as well as 2 100m2 fully self contained luxury short or long term apartments. Plenty of secure parking is available. The tram to Riga center takes 20 minutes. There are great facilities on our doorstep. Forest, Lake, boating, cycling, golf, BMX track, tennis, squash, fitness, saunas and a couple of class restaurants. We will gladly lend you our tandem. Book early. If in doubt stay the extra few days to give us the chance to help you organise the perfect Northern holiday. ( for Finns and Estonians we organise the perfect Southern holiday ) ... more   less
