Everything was just perfect . Staff did an extra mile in order to make a stay pleasant considering the whole COVID situation . Room was spacious . Food was excellent , same goes for room services . Reception staff friendly and very supportive .
Great stay in the hotel. Modern stylish design, really beautifull. Very smart and nice staff. Good SPA with 5 types of sauna, big swimming pool, fantastic and clean room, window view on Old Riga town. Thank you for supper stay and time!
Quality-price ratio is good but definitely not a 5 star hotel. I think that a hotel building is beautiful and it is located next to the park. Our bathroom was beautiful also, actually it could be described gorgeous. On the other hand our room was dark and somehow outdated. The pictures on the internet were better than the reality. As a guest I can definitely handle not-so-up-to-date furniture and decoration of the hotel but one thing I can not stand is that there were some kind of problem with sound proofing. Voices of neighboring rooms carried in our room probably through AC-pipes, very clearly. We could even hear actual words! Unfortunately our neighbors were extremely talkative and probably had super-active kids. I needed to wait until 01 AM until our room were quiet enough to fall a sleep. Breakfast was decent and a hotel has a small, nice outdoor area to enjoy it. Breakfast staff were grumpy looking and had a bit soviet-union-kind-of service attitude but all in all - not too bad atmosphere. Sparkling wine was served to those who wanted it. Prices of the rooms at Grand Poet are low. Hotel is really affordable so if you are lucky enough to get a room which soundproofing is not faulty, you get value for money.…
Excellent hotel in all regards. Located in a street with quite a bit of traffic but near the lovely park and canal of Riga, walking distance to the old town and the commercial area. It is a very large hotel with long corridors beautifully decorated with design lamps. The entrance is large and offers some cool lounge to take a rest or wait your friends. There is a very nice café in one side and the restaurant on the other side. The room we got faced a small court and it was ample and very good. It had like two different spaces so it was good for our son. The decoration was very good, maybe a bit somber in the color palette, but very comfortable. Great bed and everything you need including iron, a flat tv, etc. It was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was very ample and was elegant and practical. Ok stock of showering gels and shampoos. What really is amazing in this hotel is the Spa. Really lovely with a decent sized indoor pool, a bubble pool and several saunas and steam rooms. At least for us it was included in the price which was absolutely great to relax after long days. The breakfast was above expectation with an incredible assortment of food, including made to order omelettes, all sorts of jams, yoghourts, smoothies, bread and bakery. They also provided gluten free bread on request. Excellent, vibrant breakfast, one of the best we have tried. The only minus was the restaurant, it had a quite limited assortment for a late night room meal and not much was gluten free. But it had nice wine and was cozy for rainy days. All in all the hotel was excellent as a package. I have seen cooler rooms, better locations, or cheaper rates. But as a package this hotel is magnificent, it covers most of the essentials very good. Very satisfying stay.…
