Location couldn't be better - situated less than a minute from the main square and right on one of the primary walking streets. Public areas have lots of character. Guest rooms, I was in room eight, are functional. Staff are very helpful. Guest room and public areas were very clean. Breakfast was okay - instant coffee - is less than satisfactory. Room charges are very modest and make the stay great value!

A bit run down charming hotel in a very good location. The breakfast was okay as well as the staff.
If you have your own car, it will be hard to find the right way, and the parking place is very small but safe.

The location on the main square in Pecs was excellent. Arriving by car and needing to find the parking lot was very difficult even after walking to the hotel to get a map (which was not correct). Concierge finally came into our car to direct us. (you have to drive across the pedestrian street to get to the parking) All staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was large and comfortable but the towels were rough and the shower was moldy. We reported the mold to staff and hopefully that will be cleaned for future visitors. Breakfast was included but was minimal. Even with these few negatives I would recommend this hotel.

Pécs is a very beautiful city, I go on trips several times because it has so many possibilities. Aranyhajó Fogodó is in a very good location, close to everything. The rooms are not overthought, but they are suitable for the purpose. Not bad for the price.

Pictures from the web site don't correspond to the real room, we chose a standard room but it was vero poor! Very bad cleaning, too hot and we couldn't open the window because the smell of the restaurants came into the room.. Bad experience.

Worked fine for us, but it could have used a good cleaning. Beds were fine, but room furniture a bit worn. Not real clean, but not noticeably dirty either. As an aside, seemed in line with other like hotels in the area, but I really liked the location.

we booked a trip to hungary and decided to visit pecs we were 4 girls in late 20's not looking for a mad weekend but a relaxing time away. we arrived at the hotel at 00.45 hours i had emailed ahead to let them know there would be a late check in when we arrived we got a very cold reception and when we asked if we could have tea or coffee we were told from 7 in the morning! this was after enduring a 3 hour journey from the airport, we checked into our rooms one of which was a suite and the other a deluxe! both were extremely basic no tea or coffee making facilities and the decor left alot to be desired now the only difference was the suite had a mini bar, was slightly bigger and had 2 arm chairs! our room had a 2 seater!!! in the morning we decided to check out and move on to budapest we got another cold reception in the morning and didn't recieve any sort of an english breakfast. thankfully we only had to pay for one night, i understand some people find this hotel nice and perhaps we got the bad rooms but it wasn't up to par or how it was described on the web page.

Me and my friends came from Taiwan to visit Pecs for attending an international conference. We stayed in Golden Ship Hotel for four nights and were so impressed by the hospitality given by the owner and staff of this cozy hotel. Besides, the location of this hotel is superb. All the sightseeing attractions are just within walking distance. Along the street before the hotel, there are many restaurants, bars and shops. Vey convenient indeed. In fact, we never expected Pecs would be such a wonderful place to visit. But, we were wrong. We really enjoyed our stay in Pecs and Golden Ship Hotel. It's even more enjoyable than our trip later on to Budapest and Vienna. Great town and warm-hearted hotel! We highly recommend this hotel to travellers who really like to feel genuine hungarian spirit and hospitality.

I stayed in this hotel in Pécs during a work trip. The experience was very positive.

This is a small hotel in downtown Pécs. The location is simply perfect: downtown Pécs and very close to many restaurants, bars and shopping areas.

The room was very basic, but the room faced the the city center so I had nice views. Also, IMPORTANT, the room was very clean and the staff was very nice and friendly.

I felt very comfortable in this hotel and if you are staying in Pécs for a few days this is a very good choice.

It is said to be one of the country's oldest hotels but it still has to live up to its two star level. The rooms are quiet basic with some 30-40+ years old furniture and without air conditioning and elevator. The airco would be quite useful as Pécs is one of Hungary's hottest cities and during my stay it was quite humid too. Besides the window the only possibility to get some fresh air is through the small fan located on the table or through window that you may open.

The bathroom would require some renovation as well. I was quite surprised to see marks made with duck tape to show me where I have to turn the lights on in the bathroom or where to pull the handle to empty the toilet.

There's cold breakfast, which is ismple but various.

The greatest advantage of the hotel is its location, just off the main square in Pécs, though it also means that if you come by car, you should contact the hotel about the parking possibilities in the surroundings.
