Fantastic location just behind the Djami of the main square. Parking is tight but ok. Front desk was mostly kind and helpful. The hotel has a nice lobby where they serve good all you can eat breakfast that is included in the room price — that makes this a bargain.

The living quarters are mostly hostel-level. Beds are serviceable in comfort if you are ok with European firm mattraces (not plush at all). Design is minimalistic and so are amenities. Ergonomics (especially shower and its curtain) are not good. The place is moderately but noticeably run-down: spots of various colors on the carpet, some is torn, peeling paint from doors and ceiling, even the room key envelop is heavily preused.

Ok, this review will be a bit long... not so .. just a bit :)
Before booking this at hotel, i read some reviews and they scared me. But the location of the hotel is so good that i could not not to book here.

Price for 12 days was fair, and of course breakfast was included.

Staff: all of them helpful and very kind, spot on!

Breakfast: its average, nothing special, but you can always find some bites for your taste. Im very picky ,but even i could find always some to eat.

Room: i was so happy when i entered our room (202) . I liked the style of the room, small but very cozy, it got a positive vibe. Our room was cleaned like every other day which was absolutely fine.

All in all it was for us an amazing stay , very quiet which is the most important to me. I am happy i chose this hotel and i didnt listen for the bad negative reviews. Yes, there are things to improve, but those are minor issues.

Just some ideas to improve the overall experience of this hotel:

- check all toilets if the pressure works properly (in our room it was a bit tricky to flush)
- check regularly small dirty scratches caused by suitcases and clean it (usually comes off with water)
- maybe consider to stack up the fridge... minibar?
- a kettle would've been nice ... to drink a tea or coffee.
- in the breakfast area, keep the chairs clean, and the walls also.

I think with these ideas you would drastically improve the overall image of the hotel.

I wish all of you the best, and thank you again for the nice experience!
Have a great day.

We started our weeks stay in Hungary with three nights at the Hotel Arkadia in Pecs. Our experience was just perfect! We stayed in the older part of the hotel and the room was large (with a high ceiling), quiet, and very up to date. The breakfast each morning was the best we had during our trip and included hot foods as well as cold in a very nice dining space. The front desk staff, although sometimes struggling with English, were friendly as well as efficient and helpful. We asked about purchasing our next train ticket and they actually got the ticket for us and we paid on our bill. The location is less than a block from the main square in a city that is perfect for walking...couldn't be better. My advice to the hotel staff - keep up the good work! Your efforts (including studying English on the night shift) are paying off.

The hotel was very good about answering my questions via email before I arrived. They didn't need a credit card to secure the reservation which I thought was nice but unusual. Hotel Arkadia is in a good location right near the mosque. Breakfast of yogurt, toast, coffee, cheese, meats and eggs were provided. One day they had what looked like french toast as well. Juice was also available.
My room with 2 beds was clean and nice. I'd recommend someone staying here while in Pecs.

This nice, clean, modern hotel has a great central location.

Rooms are big enough, quiet, but some of them is partly underground, with small windows at the ceiling looking at the sky. This is obviously a (probably negative) surprise with all those white walls. The hotel is short of parking places in the courtyard but for a fee (3000 HUF / day) you can park in the street. Beware though, fee payment is checked regularly by municipality goblins and the fine is horribly high on a Hungarian scale.

Breakfast is good, staff could be more helpful.

I am satisfied however, I think the hotel is a bit rundown which is a shame because it is a rather new hotel (2 years, if I am not wrong) and I believe a lot of money was invested. Staff is friendly and I like the clean decoration and the library look of the reception. Rooms are quite big. Location is just perfect, really, it cannot be any better than that. However carpets in the hall and room need to be changed (lots of stains). Bathroom for me was the biggest issue: toilet had some nasty stains and curtains on the shower? Really? Not very sanitary. Also, the soap/shampoo holder was rusty. Breakfast is disappointing – I had a slice of bread that was probably laying there for a couple of days. I would stay at Arkadia again but I would be so glad if those issues were addressed because I really would like to give if a better rating.

We hadn't booked a room, so just walked in after reading other reviews and we weren't disappointed. The Arkadia is modern without being pretentious, right in the centre and had parking - which we also had not booked. Good value, great location, friendly staff - job done!

Excellent rooms, quiet, air-conditioned. Superb location literally <2 minutes from the top end of the square. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast.
If travelling by car you REALLY MUST book a parking space in the hotel courtyard. There is no parking in the streets round there.
I found the shower to be good, if you make sure the shower curtain is within the stainless beading no water gets out (and I'm a very large chap).
We stayed 3 nights but should have stayed longer.

Although the town has plenty of good-looking older buildings, the hotel is almost aggressively modern. The location is very convenient for the sights, although it is a bit of a trek from the train and bus stations. The hotel staff speak enough English.

The beds are comfortable, and the bedroom is dark and quiet. I especially appreciated the heated towel rail, but the AC/heat controls were a nuisance as you are unable to set an actual temperature, only specify hotter or colder. Wifi worked fine and BBC and CNN were available.

Although there is plenty of hot water, you have to hand-hold the shower head. The sink is far too shallow. Hair dryer available on request.

I did not try the hot foods at breakfast, they are not cooked to order. The cold items were fine and included muesli and yoghurt.

I am, however, downgrading this hotel because my room was not cleaned in a timely manner. I got back from sightseeing at 15:00 (having left before 11:00), which seemed to me more than late enough for the room to be ready, and was told that 16:00 was their target time. Since I was suffering from a cold and really wanted to rest this was especially annoying.
