Based on the previous recommendations and Lonely Planet's review we booked three nights here and, bottom line, couldn't have been happier with our selection.

From our standpoint the hotel is ideally situated as the benefits of being a couple blocks off the heavily touristed areas far outweigh the couple minutes it takes to walk to the main square. It's also convenient to public transportation as we walked to both the bus and train stations. If you're coming in on the bus all that's required is to cross a street, cut through the Arpad shopping center, cross another street and go around to the other side of the block and there's the hotel. The train station is a little further requiring about a fifteen-minute walk through a nice neighborhood.

The desk staff was great - all had good English and were very helpful in getting us oriented. The room and public areas of the hotel were immaculately clean. We especially appreciated the beds which were very firm - but not "hard". There is a difference. In fact, the bed was one of the best we encountered in stays at several places over the course of a month. The breakfast is what I would classify as "Continental Plus" as it included all the usual stuff plus meats, cheese, cereal, yogurts and all the orange juice and coffee you can drink. Overall, just a great experience.

arrived late, around 9 pm in Pecs, was not the most clean hotel and the towels were fit for rags, in a neighbourhood that is slowly gentrifying, but at the moment can look abit scary. If you look closely, they are really known as "Kishotel Diana" which means small hotel (ie not quite the hotel standard as yet). Breakfast spread is reasonable, and there is wifi and internet. Beds are comfortable. Parking is free, shaded and secure, and located in the compound of the synagogue next door, which is good in that you can check out of the hotel and still sightsee around Pecs old town without the fear of your car getting broken into.

We traveled through Hungary during September and visited several cities in this country, always staying at budget hotels and pensions. We arrived to Pecs' bus station late in a cold, rainy evening.
With no previous booking and with only a couple of suggestions taken from Lonely Planet, we were wondering where we would spend the night as we dragged our suitcases towards the town center.
As we entered Hotel Diana and we were welcomed by a very friendly person at reception (who spoke very fluent English) we realized we had gone to the right place.
We were offered a room on the first floor. It had a decent size, with pine furniture and private bathroom. Everything was very clean. Air-conditioning was optional but we did not require it.
They served a good breakfast in a room decorated with local crafts.
The facilities were as good as those from other budget hotels we stayed in. However what really stood out was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
In one occasion they heard that we were planning to travel to Szeged. Without us asking for any information, they searched for and provided us with bus times to that city.
We are not sure why this small hotel is not listed in TripAdvisor but we certainly recommend it to other fellow travelers.

Located in the heart of the city, a small but cozy inn. The design is simply yet homelike and the service may look modest but definitely heartwarming!
A big plus that you'll find every attraction in 5-15 minutes of walking from here and a nearby shopping mall to satisfy your needs ( <1 minute).
The railway station is approximately ~15 minutes from here and the bus station isn't farther either.

Pécs is beautiful city. I entered this hotel very late. I wake up the receptionist, who was kind.
I got a single room for couple hours of sleep.
Once i entered the room i thought i will not able to sleep, but it was very late and i was very very tired. Sleep yes, but the room is not worth the 30 Euro....nothing
The bed is extra small, like verything in this room. The pathroom is difficult to move in and its all old and broken. The room needs an Urgent renovation...

The hotel has a very central location, all of Pecs can be seen on foot. The staff are very friendly, english not great, but good enough. Rooms are normal for a 3 star hotel, bathroom small, but well cleaned. Breakfast looks small at first glance, but they replenish everything quickly and check every few minutes. From yoghurt to juice to eggs to fruit, it's all there. We had a room just over the entrance and on weekends the street can be noisy, but with the windows closed it was well insulated. The appartments are around the back and must be very quiet. Not many reviews here on Tripadvisor, but people do know about this wonderful hotel as it was busy during the 2 nights we were there.

Hotel Diana was lovely, sweet rooms and warm staff. It was quiet too, especially at night. Breakfast was good, and the folks were very helpful. We didn't know what to expect in Pecs, but it was a grand place to stroll around for a couple of days.

Stayed here for three days, everything was fine and we were happy with our stay. Rooms are not too big, but very well decorated and furnished. Bed, pillows and mattresses were excellent. Food was good with variety of choices. Staff was very friendly and provided us all the details of various tourist places of the town. Overal a lovely place and I would love to recommend it.
