Stayed at Burg hotel for 4 nights on a long weekend break with 2 girl friends. The staff were really friendly,we had a room for 3( one was a sofabed) which was spacious and clean and the only problem we found was the noise of the buses starting at 5 am outside..and the church bells. Its in a great location...

The Hotel Burg is a small hotel in the castle district of Budapest. My partner and I stayed at the hotel in April 2008, this was on the recomendation of a work colleague who is Hungarian. The hotel was clean and functional. The staff were pleasant and resolved any problems we had quickly. The views of St. Mathias church, which...

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Burg Hotel. It is a quaint 3-star hotel located right on top of Castle Hill next to the Matthias Cathedral and within walking distance of the Danube, Castle Hill sites and old town. If you are looking for something more romantic and quiet on the Buda side, you cannot get a...

We returned to the Hotel Burg in September because we had stumbled on it a few years back and we were so impressed with it. We wanted to say "hi" to Lajos the long time manager and we knew the hotel would be just what we wanted. We booked directly with the hotel. As so many have said it is...

The Burg Hotel was a sufficient hotel in a fabulous location. The service was very good, the rooms were on par with a Best Western, the location on Trinity Square with a view of the church from every room was wonderful. It is however a very busy square with a bus stop right outside of our room (107) and I...

My family (myself, wife, 3 year old son, mother and father-in-law) have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Burg Hotel. We stayed in 2 large rooms. Most of the reviews below are right on: it is a good place for the price. It is very clean. Just don't expect any extras: Staff is at an absolute minimum....

Burg Hotel is in an excellent location in Pest, just across the street from St. Mattias church and the Fishermen's Bastion. We stayed in a family room which was very comfortable for our family of four (two teenagers). The area around the hotel is quite charming. Overall a good value and just about what I expected.

We booked a hotel and transfers using [-------------------] and were very happy with their services. The driver met us at the airport with our name on a sign and took us directly to the hotel. The price quoted was around 23 Euros (each way) and we paid in the Budapest currrency. We stayed at the Burg Hotel for three nights....

We stayed 3 nights in Burg Hotel and I think it's a nice hotel for Budapest. Our family room are clean. Breakfast are very good. I like Burg Hotel, but I think it's better stay in down of Buda near Danube, in another place more central.

very pleased with the hotel. It was clean, well located (across from the minibus that takes you to Moszkva Ter), across from Fisherman's Bastion. Rooms are adequately sized, and clean. Bathrooms are quite small, but do the trick. Great cafe - Ruszwurm - nearby. You must try the cherry strudel.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
