Unbeatable location just in front of Saint Matthias church and the fisherman's bastion, inside the Buda castle. Good service and quality for a 3 star hotel. Well communicated with the other side of the city (Pest) by bus. Highly recommendable

Wonderfully sited hotel with view of Mathyas Church; but some car noise at night if the window was open. Comfortable room, good mattress and pillows, everything worked well. Very helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

very nice stay, clean and friendly, breakfast okay, people there always helpful, wifi a bit weak, no elevators, no problem for us, though, perfect location opposite Matyas curch on castle hill, wonderful PT connection, bus line 16 right in front of hotel, quiet, on 2nd floor the windows can only be tilted, i.e. not be full opened, which my wife...

A very good location for the sunrise pictures of the city. Clean and quiet room with a view on the square (very popular place with tourists. Bus stop 20 meters away. Nice basic breakfast with an overview of the square. Quick check in, staff speaks English.

A hotel that meets your expectations based on its 3 star rating. The main selling point here is that it's a low cost alternative to the nearby Hilton that shares the same beautiful area. The hotel provides a standard breakfast and the staff are both friendly and helpful

I stayed for one night in this old fashioned hotel and I really appreciated the honesty and the simplicity of it. I paid for my room, with a spectacular view to a major monument, the price I paid for a meal in Berlin. You can t find here huge buffet but there are tasteful cheeses and one of the best...

Location is excellent, breakfast good and bus stop in the corner. Hotel is not modern, but it is clean and staff is friendly. With this price it is hard to find better. Everything in old town is just few hundred meters away.

It was my second time in Budapest and decided to book a hotel in Buda this time as it is a lovely neighbourhood there. But I have to admit that I wasn't expecting that this hotel would be that nice! The building is a simple one but the room and the view from our room especially was something that I...

This hotel is in the perfect spot for the best sights in Budapest. We have stayed here 3 times now. Good value for money. Friendly and helpful reception staff bar one guy at night that seemed like he really didn't want to be there! Rooms could do with an update but they are clean.

I stayed at Burg Hotel for 3 days, going to a scientific conference that, lucky me, took place in a building at the same square with the hotel. The location is absolutely incredible, in the well known and eternally visited square of Mathyias Church, a UNESCO monument, and very close to the extraordinary Fishermen's Bastion. I reached the place from...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
