We stayed in Gold Hotel Buda in May 2011 and we have run out of superlatives to describe the hotel and our stay there. Our room was very nice , and the Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is superbly sitated at the foot of the Gellert Hill. It is only a twenty minute walk to the castle, which... More

Myself, partner & two of our friends stayed here between the 6th of July & the 10th. Our apartment was very spacious inside with 2 en suite bedrooms one which has a bath. Cleaners were in every day & are kept pretty clean. We also had a balcony, where we could smoke. There's plenty of utensils for cooking in the... More

My family (2 adults + 2 children 9 and 12 years old) stayed 3 nights in the apartment building next to Gold Hotel Buda and we loved it! The apartment was large, quite and comfortable. We had separate rooms, so no need to sleep with the kids :-) . We also had a nice kitchen, balcony, bathroom, separate WC. My... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and had a wonderful holiday. I stayed with my wife in Gold Hotel Buda and it was really a wonderful time. We chose a tower room, which was big enough and comfortable. We also used the garden and the terrace, where we could sit down and spend some time before starting the day. The hotel is located at the Gellert hill, so we walked up... More

It was my second time in Gold Hotel Buda and it was really enjoyable again. Location is great. If you like walking, you can reach many tourist sights on foot. Price is valuable, we even got a discount for 3 nights stay. Rooms are comfortable and nice. Breakfast is good. Staff is helpful and kind.

Three of us, all asian female, stayed at this hotel from June 13-16, 2011, it was a total nightmare. This is an old hotel and nothing much surrounding, we booked it through lastminute.com, it's supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but trust me on this, its more like a 2.5 stars hotel. First, the pillow case has blood stains,... More

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
