Very good and conveniently. An old hotel but very charming. The hotel is suitable for all age groups. Very friendly service staff. Hotel Gellert bath is worth visiting. We are pleased and will certainly stay again here.

This is of course the aged hotel resort, feeling the hystory but perhaps some details are below the expectation. Expected value of the spa resort was low, cleanliness and services poor. Some services like parking out of standard way.

Really enjoyed our stay. Supremely helpful staff and a grand hotel. Lovely stained glass, super spa and the best breakfast I have ever eaten in a hotel. Outside spa isn't open in some winter months so check before you book. The inside spa was amazing.

Excellent location. Our room was with panoramic view on Danubius river and bridges. Friendly staff always ready to help.Unforgettable thermal bath and pool that every guest of the hotel can enjoy. The breakfast was abundant. The only week point I think was the check out in 11:00 instead in 12:00

This was our third visit to the Gellert and this was our best room yet. A large double, with a balcony overlooking the Danube, with access to the thermal baths just across the corridor. We added our 8 year old son to the booking at the last minute, at no extra charge for the additional bed and breakfast. This was...

This hotel exceeded our expectations, it looked so grand from the outside occupying a super location overlooking the Danube. Whilst I do agree with some other reviewers some of the rooms and furnishings are a little dated and tired, however this adds to a feeling of faded grandeur with hints of a luxurious bygone age. It also offers excellent value...

A lovely traditional hotel! Great value for a 4 star. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. The spa was wonderful which a visit is included in your stay which makes it even more good value for money. I would definitely stay here again

Met all expectations. Large room overlooking the Danube. Extra bed as requested. As others reviewers have commented the hotel furnishings are a little tired but this didn't affect our comfort at all. Plenty of sockets in our room for charging devices and we'd taken a travel kettle along anticipating nothing in the room. All the staff were extremely courteous and...

Very comfortable stay in a convenient location. The building is very impressive, but internally you can appreciate what it must once have been. However it does represent good value for money. Didn't sample the spa, but friends who did seemed impressed.

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
