hotel a distance from centre acess by metro takes ten minutes. Staff were very nice some younger residents were rather noisy on two nights until 0230hrs. Staff were nice and they served a good breakfast.

On outward appearance I wasnt so sure. we arrived late on a train and the road works werent a welcoming sight. The access isn't great as you need to go up to the hotel on the fifth floor and the lifts are slow but once inside this hotel is perfectly adequate for the price. The room was basic but clean...

Dear guineverent, Thank you for your review about our hotel. We know that the new metro line construction site is not the most welcoming what a tourist can see first time when he/she arrives to Keleti station. Still, Baross' location is very convenient (not just) for city visiting tourists, because of the easy reach of the metro, bus and hop...

Located 5 minutes on underground from main part of the city the hotel is warm and comfortable and clean. Our group comprised of 3 couples and we were all allocated our individual rooms accordingly. However, one of the rooms smelt strongly of urine so we complained and promptly was moved to another room. Our room was clean warm and confortable...

We were given a room on the top floor of the hotel, which was at sauna temperatures when we went in. Opening the roof windows was little help because more heat just kept coming and the stench of drains coming in from outside was terrible. The air conditioning did not work. Were it not for the heat and the stink...

Dear G630DW, Thank you for your review about our hotel and information regarding nearby venues. We are really sorry about your experienced inconveniences. In some times of the summer it gets really hot, up to 39-40 degrees Celsius here in Budapest. At those times the air conditioning goes at a very high level and it takes several minutes or even...

My son & I stayed at the Baross City Hotel from mid October until the end of October. The hotel isn't very visible - there is a small sign to the right of the door that says Baross Hotel - the front of the hotel is unassuming. It is protected by a buzzer that allows guests to use the buzzer...

The Hotel Baross is very near the railroad station. With the Metro construction, it is difficult to find. Think about 3 o'clock from the station front steps. That means walking through wooden edged walkways toward the Burger King. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a building, and the entrance is stuck between a casino and a bar. The...

If you are happy to have next to nothing air-con and can deal with mosquitos, this is the place for you. When we complained about the air-con, they got someone in who said the air-con was working fine. After the air-con being on for the whole day, it seemed the room was boiling. It was much colder outside so we...

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were roomy enough and clean. The bathroom was a bit small but had a nice walk-in shower. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is near Keleti trail station and metro. The only downfall was that we needed a smoking room and they were on the sixth floor and you had to carry your luggage...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
