It is an ideal location near shopping, the street market and the large ferris wheel. The rooms are roomy and offer all of the upscale amenities you would expect: robe, coffee maker, tub and shower, shoe shine kit. The small business office could be a bit more user friendly with better explanations for non-Hungarian speaking guests.

Went to visit during Spring Break. Wife and I stayed in the Carlton Suite and got an adjoining deluxe room for our teen kids. Service was top notch. Food was excellent. And in the heart of it all. The hotel was understated and elegant.

I stayed here for two nights on my own. I am familiar with the property as I had stayed here a couple of times in its previous iteration as the Le Meridien. The renovation they did as part of the re-flagging was a home run. The place is just beautiful. I am a Marriott rewards member without status and I...

This is the second time staying and whilst excited to come back and stay, this time I have learnt a lot about the hotel customer service. There is none, when you are accused of something you did not do. I got a shocking email and message on my TV screen to let me know I had been smoking in my...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest, is housed within a protected historic building, located on Elizabeth Square, with views over St Stephens Basilica. Constructed in 1914 as the headquarters for an Italian insurance company, Adria Palace, the building has seen many incarnations, but today it's open as a luxury property with 170 elegantly appointed rooms and 30 suites. Whilst many of the building's original architectural details have been retained, including elegant statues on the exterior walls, the interiors offer guests a spacious and relaxed contemporary environment, inspired by the cool colours and swirling water of the Danube River. The Ritz-Carlton Club Level is situated on the 8th and 9th floors of the property, allowing guests an elevated experience and an additional sanctuary, with dedicated concierge, plus complimentary food and beverage presentations running throughout the day. Introducing two restaurants and a bar to the Budapest scene, the unrivalled Deak Street Kitchen provides a relaxed and atmospheric environment and serves a variety of Hungarian-inspired dishes, created using local seasonal ingredients, and freshly grilled meat & fish, alongside one of the city's finest selections of indigenous Hungarian wines and beers with an elegant outside terrace overlooking vibrant Fashion Street. The Kupola Lounge, situated beneath the building's iconic stained glass cupola and grand crystal chandelier, is ideally placed for a leisurely farmer's market breakfast or light lunch overlooking the hotel lobby. The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest, also houses a fresh, contemporary bar. Combining sleek finishes with the building's uncovered original architectural columns, the Kupola Bar focuses on serving innovative cocktails in a metropolitan, sophisticated ambiance. ... more   less
