The hotel is well located, but there is quite a lot of road and traffic noise on a continuous basis. The hotel has a dated style and could certainly do with some refurbishment. The staff were not hugely friendly and never really smiled. They had a solemn appearance and the experience would be more memorable if the staff were friendlier.

The hotel is almost ideally located between Keleti (main) station and the city center. Although its infrastructure has obviously serverd for quite a long time, it offers clean, friendly facilities and rooms and a very helpful staff. Overall, one gets what one would expect from a four-star hotel at very good-value pricing.

Good stay for good value. A bit old style and seems to need some refurbishment, but also very well located. Great communication- bus, train and underground in near. We got a bigger room free of charge as we requested for a baby crib. That was lovely.

We stayed many times in Danubius Hotels but first time in the Hungaria City Center. This one like the others has its charm. We had a very warm welcome at the reception and a comfortable room. We definitely will be back!

From the very first moment we were made to feel welcome. The staff was both formal and friendly. The hotel itself has a beautiful entrance hall, and the rooms are good. Warm and cosy in the freezing winter. The only problem for me was some noise, probably from a ventilation system, out in the courtyard when trying to sleep. But...

- the furniture was ancient and partly broken - the windows offered no sound/temperature insulation (you could hear everything on the street and the nice chilly December air flowed uninterrupted through the window) - they spoke very basic English: keep in mind that you have to use google translate to interact with the hotel staff (images also help in making...

Hotel's facilities were mediocre, and the quality of the breakfast was very poor, like buying food from a cheap supermarket. Overall experience didn't felt like the hotel is up to 4 start standards. Location of the hotel is good and it was cheaper than other 4 start hotel choices in the area, but this price reduction fells like is been...

We had an excellent triple room. Clean, nicely furnished with a comfortable bed, tv and coffee and tea making facilities. This excellent hotel is only a few minutes walk away from the Keleti train station.

Very nice hotel with kind and helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Very good location of the hotel allows you easy access to almost every part of the city. Breakfast was OK. It would be nice if we had a safe in the room.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
