Stayed for 3 nights in September. A very nice hotel to stay in. Staff welcoming, very nice rooms that are clean and of a good size. Ate in the hotel a couple of times and the good was good. The Bar however was extremely slow in serving and seemed to be keen to close even if still busy, which was...

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a river view room...............absolutely stunning..............fantastic views of the Danube, the Chain Bridge, Buda Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion. The hotel itself is in a good central position close to bus, metro and tram stops so getting around won't be a problem. If you need a taxi there is always one on hand,...

I just loved this hotel and cannot imagine better location to enjoy Budapest. The location of hotel is perfect – just by the Danube, few steps from Vaci street and a short walk to Buda side. Rooms are good sized and if you want to have great experience, definitely book the room with river/Buda view. We used a plenty of...

Dear Issa1, Thank you for leaving your comment on the site. I am very much delighted that you mention so many things assigned that you liked throughout your stay in our hotel. I find it a really nice coincidence that your husband's birthday is on the same day as the Hungarian National Day. It is really a unique experience to...

My sister and I each had a room here for one night, chosen because our river cruise group was meeting at the hotel the next day. We both agreed that our rooms were excellent, so comfortable and well appointed. The beds were particularly comfortable. The location is brilliant, so close to many local sights and city shopping. We had arrived...

Dear jezsab, Thank you very much for writing your review. I am much pleased that after a long trip from Australia you felt comfortable in your well appointed room and enjoyed the meal served in the Corso Bar. High level floors with river view are magnificent. Service is always attentive at InterCon and prices are always high. You tend to get what you pay for so you don't expect them to bump you when you pay in full months in advance and are a club member. So much for loyalty cards. If it happens to you then hold...

We reserved two nights at intercontinental. They had some troubles with our reservations and moved us in another hotel for the first night... It was not so good but they were very professional and handled the situation at the best. They moved in another 5 stars hotel and upgraded us in an executive room with a wonderful view on Danube...

Lovely hotel. Rooms spacious and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety. Staff very friendly and helpful. A wonderful location next to the chain bridge. And while in Budapest the hop on hop off bus is great value, nearest bus stop next to hotel.

Very large typical older 70's intercontinental property. Lobby looked refurbished as had the spa in recent times. standard twin / double bedrooms on small side, tiny bathrooms. That said other room types larger and probably a better specification. This is a business, groups and conference Hotel, not much soul. Service was however good and the discounted rate keen. Right on the Danube, steps from Chain Bridge, this full service hotel features friendly and professional staff. River view rooms and most of the public spaces have great views of the Castle District buildings, a wonderful sight particularly at night.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
