We prefer intercontinental hotels when we travel in big cities but Budapest's intercontinental really made the difference. We had a spacious deluxe room with amazing Danube views...The location of the hotel is also great...5 min walking distance from vaci utca and about 10 to 15 minutes from other popular sights like the Parliament.Breakfast was also very good...But I think it lacks...

We had a wonderful stay here over the New Year period. We stayed in a Junior Suite looking on to the river, with a magnificent view of the Chain Bridge and across to Buda. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful, especially the concierge team. The location is perfect - right by the chain bridge for easy access to Buda, and...

We seem to stay in Intercontinental Hotels quite often in Europe, and they are consistently very good. The Budapest Hotel is ugly on the outside.....communist modern....but the interior is nice, the rooms are very good, and the service is excellent. Best of all, the location is perfect....right across the river from the Bastion, etc., right next to the chain bridge,...

Best location in Budapest (Pest). The hotel is along the river promenade, with views of the river, the Castle, the chainlink bridge and the cathedrals on the Buda side. It is next to the Four Seasons, the Sofitel and the Marriott is a two minute walk. Big lobby with bar for drinks and light meals and the bar and the...

We have stayed at Intercontinental Budapest during December, what is a great time to visit Budapest. Hotel is located right in the city center, two corners from Christmas market and everything you need to enjoy Budapest in December. I recommend choosing your room on river side where you will have stunning view of Danube river, Buda castle and old Chain...

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. First, they contacted me several days beforehand to make sure all my needs would be met. When we arrived a bit early, my room was ready with the most wondrous view- the palace and castle district. Breathtaking. Very polite, friendly staff. Consistent good service. We dined at the restaurant for one dinner which was...

Recent trip to Budapest and the Xmas markets, and stayed at the Intercontinental. So happy with the location, great buffet breakfast and choice of a river room overlooking the Danube, with the bonus of a full moon. Breathtaking. Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
