Great location with impressive view - I was lucky to get a room on the 8th floor with a view of the castle across the Danube. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Everyone speaks perfect English, they are always ready to assist, I felt was treated like a princess. Great rooms with everything a business traveler could need. One of the...

The hotel is located in a very good spot, with a view over the Danube river, just across from Buda castle. We had luck and were upgraded to a room with a large window exactly towards this view. This location is also close to vaci utca, the street for shopping, and is a walking distance from many interesting sites in...

Stayed here for a long weekend, staff were amazingly helpful, bedrooms were lovely and clean, with fresh linen replaced each day and plenty of toiletries provided. Breakfast in the morning was incredible, so much variety even including freshly made to order omelettes. The location is amazing, as you can see over the Danube from the lounge area and can see...

We booked a short break in Budapest at the InterContinental Hotel. Although I had already booked a room with a river view the room upgrade was an added bonus. We had probably one of the best views available in the city - across the Danube, the Chain Bridge and the castle. The service in the hotel was excellent and the...

Excellent location for a weekend break. Me and my sister went fri-sun and explored all around the city on foot, no transport costs at all! went both sides of the river and all around the nearby town part and walked down to the heros wall. The hotel is excellent, view from our room window was breathtaking. Breakfast was amazing, so...

We booked a 3-day short break here in January and paid extra for a Danube view. The room was very spacious with massive windows and great views of the Chain Bridge and Royal Palace. Just enjoyed a perfect long weekend at the Budapest Intercontinental. Location & service couldn't be better and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Drinks in the bar a little expensive but not excessive for a hotel of this standard.

When thinking of Budapest Intercontinental I could imagine only best words. The hotel is marvelous. Rooms are spacious, cosy and very clean. Breakfast is perfect - both food and service. View to the river we have from the room was probably the best in the city. Quite satisfied with our visit and staying - will definitely return back some day.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
