This is the 2nd year I have stayed at the Intercontinental during race weekend, in Hungary. I have to say it is the best place to stay. The views are just great if you are at the front of the hotel looking over the danube. It is walking distance from everywhere worth going. The food is great and the bar...

The hotel has a very good location and if you pay extra or you are lucky (as I was once) you get a room with an unforgettable view on the Danube river and Buda hill. It is really something special. Hotel keeps a very high standard of InterConti hotels, has a very good gym and cosy spa and swimming pool...

The room was very nice, clean, quiet, with comfortable beds. Air conditioning and wifi worked well. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was excellent. There was a wide variety...

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel on business. Although this is a large place, the service was impeccable. Staff was very friendly and ready to help if needed. The check in and check out were smooth, my room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a buffet with ample choice. Actually, all one needs.

We checked in as IHG Priority Club Members and were given an upgrade to a superb room overlooking the river. The room overlooked Buda Castle and Fishermans Bastion and also The Chain Bridge which were all illuminated at night. The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring the city with easy access to buses, trams and Underground. The concierge...

Avalon booked us here along the river for 2 nights before our Danube trip. Our view was fantastic and the hotel room very pleasant. Fortunately, this included the breakfast buffet. We did not eat other meals in the hotel fearing extra costs, but there were plenty of restaurants just down the street or the river walkway. So many people in...

The Avalon help desk is also in the foyer. Hassel free and convenient place to stay if are intending to do a river cruise.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
