We've visited Hotel Citadella every year for ~17 years, ever since our first visit to Budapest. If you are looking for 5 star accommodation or modern hotel facilities this hotel is defiantly not for you. If you are however looking for a reasonably priced hotel within a historic citadel which will give you an interesting and unique location to stay...

Hotel is in a handy location for al the transport links that help you explore the city, much of which is walkable in any case if you are able. The rooms are clean and services every day, the breakfast is 'OK' but tea/coffee/and hot food is generally cool. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Only thing missing was...

This was a nice place to stay, the scenery was very lovely. The staff was also nice, they understood english well (most Hungarians have a problem with it, kinda strange). So, if you really don't want to search for a maybe less costly, cheaper place to stay, I can advise this one.

We stayed here for 8 nights. The view from the Citadella is an amazing vista looking down on Pest and Buda. The exterior is a wonderful Habsberg fortress while the inside is extremely clean and the beds are very comfortable. All the rooms are very big with windows. Dorm rooms cost 11 euros a night, very clean, with a bathroom...

If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas.
