The hotel Budapest is impossible to miss - it is a towering cylinder in the middle of the city. The rooms are all on the outside of the "cylinder", which means that they are all wedge-shaped, which is slightly disorienting, but makes for a unique experience. The hotel is a ~20 minute walk to castle hill and ~10 minutes to...

This Hotel was great value for money, although the rooms are small they are clean and all you need on a when sightseeing trip. We were on the 14th Floor with fantastic views and our friends book a suite on the 15th Floor again amazing value. Breakfast was 9 euros per adult and children eat for free. A very simple...

This hotel's saving grace is the excellent front-desk staff. We had been allocated the wrong rooms and they put it right immediately. They were also on hand to provide recommendations, tips and assisted in booking quite a few of our trip activities. The rooms are clean and equipped with a TV, minibar and a new bathroom - but overall, old....

I stayed in this hotel for 3 weeks while working in Budapest as my company booked me in it and the general impression is that it is Soviet Union style hotel. Everything is old, dated, not working properly. Furniture in the room not only looks old but even smells dusty. The carpets in the halls remind of comunism, everything is...

Tired looking rooms. Could not get the smell of cigarette smoke out of the room and bedsheets even after leaving the windows open. Service was passable but don't expect smiles. More like a 2 star than a 4 star hotel.

Stayed here as part of a Cosmos tour of Central Europe • Large circular shaped hotel – rooms big and airy looking out over the city but only two lifts which made for a bit of waiting especially at peak traffic times • No room safe • Breakfast perfectly adequate but probably again not as good as some of the...

This hotel is rated with 4 stars but my opinion is that it deserves less than that. I've stayed in better 2 star hotels. It is true that the price is very low , the rooms are big and the location is good. In fact, I wouldn't be so critical if i hadn't found a piece o sausage under my...

After intensive search I booked a room here because it had one of the lowest rates I could find online for this kind of accommodation. Due to the low rate, I feared I would be given one of the least desirable rooms they had. Yet, it was a pleasant surprise to discover that my room was actually on the 12th...

I arrived at the hotel late at night without a reservation after a quick change of plans. Despite my late arrival at around 11.30pm the staff were very helpful and spoke perfect english. The porter was very helpful with my bags and showed me the room. I had a lovely room on the 6th floor with a lovely view of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stay at one of the capital’s iconic buildings! Hotel Budapest – formerly called Round Hotel – caused a major stir as soon as it was built. The high-rise circular building full of windows was considered an architectural oddball, and so in time became one of the symbols of Budapest and a favourite with visitors. With its 15 stories and 64 metres in height, it’s still the tallest hotel in the country. From its higher floors, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the various landmarks of the Buda and Pest sides of the city. The hotel, located in green surroundings at the foot of the Buda hills, is an excellent choice whether you want to go sightseeing, or you’ve come for a professional event, or if you want to go for a walk in the Buda hills: the buses or trams stopping in front of the hotel will take you to the M2 metro in Széll Kálmán Square in a few minutes, and also to many nice place in Buda, without having to change. The cog-wheel railway, a major tourist attraction in itself, stops right opposite the hotel, offering easy access to the Buda hills. The nearby Városmajor park is a great place for long walks, jogging and other outdoor exercise. Those arriving by car or coach can park their vehicle in the car park in front of the hotel. ... more   less
