We arrived earlier than check-in, hotel was very busy but we were given a room almost immediately with an upgrade to a split level room with a kitchenette. Room was very spacious. The castle area is a bit quieter in the evenings than the Pest side but that was perfect for us. Amazing views of the river, parliament building, especially...

Sightseeing really easy from this Hilton Hotel, because of it´s excellent location and neighbourhoods (Note there are two Hilton Hotels in Budapest). It's walking distance from Hungary's National Gallery, for example; which has an amazing art collection.

We were starting a tour. Our flight was very late and our luggage lost. The tour put us up at the Hilton in Budapest. We arrived late at night. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was wonderful. They were very considerate and thoughtful and we left feeling that our missing luggage problem was in good hands. They also made...

Great location and wonderful views if you secure a river view. The castle area is a bit quieter than the opposite side of the river in Pest. Good restaurants are close by and you are within walking distance of most attractions.

We were here on a overnight stay from an Orient Vacations package and the location for such a short stay couldn't be better. The St. Mathias Church and the Fisherman's Bastion were just a minute away. Wonderful choice of restaurants in the area and a picturesque walk to many places of interest with markets, shops, museums, monuments all within walking...

Stay here, if you are a short-term tourist by car. Reasons: * best "Hilton" brand hotel I have seen in the world ever, as a Diamond, despite small service-related hiccups. (Property can be branded Conrad if those hiccups are fixed) * reservation duly gave best-view rooms on request on Diamond status, after paying the Danube view upcharge. * Buda castle...

We stayed two nights at the Hilton in September. This hotel is in a great location, next to St. Mathias Church and the Fisherman's Bastion, right in the midst of all the Castle Hill attractions. The hotel rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. That is where all the good ends. Budapest is an inexpensive city and the Hilton’s...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
