I love staying in quaint, European hotels that make me know I am 'not in Kansas anymore'. This one was just right for me. The room was an odd shape with high ceilings and had all the necessities: a fairly comfortable bed, working shower (with the soap dispenser on the shower wall) and toilet, a desk and closet. For the...

Located at the site of the original Pilvax Cafe, the place where the 1848 hungarian revolution was conceived and planned, the hotel is on a pedestrian mall (Pilvax St), so is very quiet. Its also essentially in the centre of the city, i.e., is close to shops, monuments, the Danube, restaurants, public transport etc. The hotel is a little dated...

Booked the room several months in advance. Arrived with back pack and large bag. No lifts , so I was required to carry both bags up two flights of stairs. There was no offer of help with at least one bag. Allotted room was the furtherest from the stairs.Room was situated above the entry/exit door for Jack Doyles Irish Pub....

As expected for the price we paid for a room for one week. The shower was clogged, but fixed upon request. The bed is sort of hard, but acceptable. The room is pretty much as minimialistic as they come, but you're only there for some sleep and a shower in the morning, so I consider the value to be great....

We stayed for 4 nights and had a really good experience from the hotel. All in the staff was so kind to us. The room was okey, maybe a little bit old furnitures but we did not mind. At least it was well cleaned. They served excellent breakfast. The hotel was even more central than we knew before so we...

The Staff at the hotel were very lovely. My girlfriend and I arrived early and were offered two rooms to choose from; these being a room with a better view or a quieter room. The hotel room was adequate for our needs and was very clean. The only down side was that the shower was a bit small. However, This...

The hotel is in a pedestrian area. Very quiet and safe area, considering it is in a very central location and within walking distance to most visiting sights. The room was adequately sized with a big wardrobe, bathroom had soap dispensers, plenty hot water, and towels changed and room and bathroom cleaned every day. Breakfast was served- from 7am-10am,everything from English breakfast...

The hotel is located a few minutes from downtown and the main attractions by walk or public transportation. The rooms are very clean, a little noisy; stuff friendly & speak English. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast room. Perfect place for leisure stays in Budapest. Nearby a real Irish Pub.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
