Booked Butterfly Home but then was contacted by owners to say address moved to Butterfly Penthouse. The experience was above expectations from A-To-Z: great place, location, staff, food, price. I would not stay anywhere else if I am ever back in Budapest!!! I has a bathroom that could usually only be found in a 5-star hotel. Highly recommended!!

Butterfly Home is very accessible, by walking or by taking the tram, to many major attractions in Budapest. It serves a hot breakfast with a menu, which is rare among European B&Bs and hotels. We stayed in a spacious suite with well-equipped bathroom. The staff was helpful guiding us in regard to our tour of Budapest. I would recommend Butterfly...

The apartment address changed between our booking date and arrival date. They communicated the situation very clearly and how to find the new location. Gabor greeted us at the front gate which was fortunate as we had no phone to call and say we were waiting. Tip: let any host know your approximate arrival time. After the first day, Eddy...

My wife and I stayed at this place for 5 days in the last week of August. We had booked this place for our stay during our Ironman adventure in Budapest. Our packed cycle was lost in transit, and the Hotel hosts were helpful in ringing up the airport to confirm that the bicycle would get delivered the next day....

We only stayed a short one night. The room was very large for a European B & B . The host was a very interesting person and very proud to share things around the city. Breakfast was wonderful. Wish we would have stayed longer. The place was full of wonderful antiques. Was a pleasure! Good luck on your new places...

This was my first stay at the Butterfly Home. It was a fantastic experience. My only regret was that we only had one night in Budapest. Gabor and Roland were extremely helpful in helping us get around Budapest. The breakfast with a homemade omlet was excellent. The rooms had much need air conditioning too. And the central location could not...

I stayed at this lovely old bed and breakfast place. It is 102 years old but very well taken care of. The breakfast was wonderful with so much choice including eggs cooked any way you want them. Our host, Andras was wonderful and so considerate. He spent considerable time to explain to us where the best places to eat or...

An old house with lots of character. Delicious and extensive breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order, etc. Roland at the reception so very helpful - a gem. Large quiet room (no traffic outside). Large bathroom. Convenient location up from the market and the Liberty Bridge and a Tesco Express nearby (room had a fridge). Will stay there on my...

Amazing customer service! When reservation got cancelled thru expedia and rooms were booked, we were offered a nearby apartment owned by the family. Transport to/from the airport was arranged and was stress free. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend to anyone planning a trip to Budapest!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
