Brilliant communication from before even arriving in Budapest. Given my desired type of accommodation and excellent receptionists. Facilities in room basic but perfectly clean and comfortable. Bathroom just next door and fully working kitchen and washing machine downstairs. Comfortable lounge. Very happy with choice and would return with husband or friends.

Our room was clean and spacious and the shared facilities were spotless. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the location on St Stephen's plaza was ideal. Correspondence with the hostel before arrival helped us find our way easily. Thanks, Barbara.

Excellent stay at Pal's, fantastic location with very friendly and helpful staff who told us everything we needed to know about the city. Very close to the Bazilika, and a pleasant 40 minute walk from Szechenyi Baths. Facilities were perfect for what we needed, rooms were very clean, and great value for money. Highly recommended!

I had never stayed in a hostel before and I had never been to Budapest, but my experience was unparalleled when I stayed at Pal's! Situated in one of the coolest areas (next to Saint Stevens Basilica) and walking distance from everything in the city, I had an easy time finding stuff to do all the time and was just... More

Great city centre location, friendly and polite staff who gave us a really helpful introduction to Budapest when we checked in, reasonable price for a private double room with adjoining shared kitchen and bathroom. Fabulous addition to the living area was a series of recommendation posters (contributed to by previous guests) which really helped us with choosing where to eat,... More

My sister and I stayed here last summer as the start of our two month Eurotrip. Such a fantastic find. The apartments are right in the centre and next to the basilica. It is easy to tour around the rest of the city from here with plenty of great restaurants in the surrounding area. This place definitely set the bar... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
