This a great centrally located hotel located within a recently restored and renovated bathhouse. It is a street away from the main road so rooms receive little traffic noise but it's very conveniently located near metro, tram and bus stations. It is also possible to walk from here to Buda although a feat for the brave hearted during the summer...

Stayed here for almost a week for a school trip. The hotel itself is pretty, it serves an awesome breakfast with some smashing bacon. Staff were average. Some were friendly but some spoke to us as if we were infants. Rooms are clean and on the top floor they have saunas, a hot tub and two pools - one indoor...

This hotel is in the perfect location for a city break, near the shops, tour bus location and nightlife. The grand exterior and entrance is impressive. It's a shame the rooms are very small and don't reflect the grandness. My only gripe was that the blind on the window wasn't wide enough and the light shone through early in the...

We stayed here for 4 nights in a standard double room (537). We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The bed was bigger than a double, we thought it was a king. There were window seats under a large window, which were very comfortable plus gave extra space for your belongings. A safe, minibar and AC which...

I enjoyed my stay at Zara hotel. The location is pretty good, next door to the Dohany street synagogue, and about 10-15 minutes walk from the Vaci street. The amenities are good. The cleaning stuff - efficient. The breakfast - plentiful and tasty. There was live piano music at the lobby, and the bar appeared to be stocked - I...

We were exceptionally happy with our stay at the Continental Hotel Zara! The best thing about it was the rooftop pool and sun loungers which were very welcome after a day of exploring in 30 degree heat! Here are a few more specifics: Location: Excellent, located within the Jewish Quarter which is very central, 10-15 min walk to St Stephen's...

In Budapest for a week we are thrilled with this hotel. Great value at A$120pn but the quality is there. Room is well fitted, quiet and immaculate. Walking distance to all the main sites. I've been to this hotel many times over the last three years, and the service just went down the scale: from unpleasant staff, to useless waiters in the restaurant, cleaning team not so efficient, and worn out linen. Wifi is better in any burger joint/coffee shop in the neighborhood than in the hotel. Everyday your bathroom get flooded, and they...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
