Stayed here with a friend for 4 nights. Beautiful entrance door & reception. Room quite small but adequate, it wasn't as if we were spending a lot of time in it. Buffet breakfast in Araz restaurant was very good. We had 2 evening meals there and the food was superb.- the desserts were delicious. The bar on the mezzanine floor...

I stayed here as part of a group of 9 ladies having booked through Venere, part of Expedia. We arrived and were greeted by a concierge and after checking in early had our bags taken by the porters. We had all been given rooms together at the end of a corridor and we were all pleased with our rooms which...

A convention in Budapest lead us to book rooms for 50 people in Zara Continental. Its location and architectural beauty is something you can't ignore. Arriving to the hotel after a 30min bus ride, we found the amazing building right in the middle of Pest, the west district of Budapest. The city of Budapest will remind you of New York...

Everything was perfect the only inconvenience was that the quilt was a little bit short for tall people. The breakfast was one of the best and the staff was friendly. Access to the centre was very good, nearby places were interesting (bars etc) and all information asked on the reception desk were accurate. Many channels to choose at the rooms...

Not only is this place very elegant but it was also very professional. It was very cheap for a 4 star hotel and the service was amazing! The rooms were nice and beds very comfy. The location is perfect! It's a short walk from Kazinczy utca (street?) which has very quirky and cheap bars. The best one being Szimpla Kert...

My partner and I had a great stay at the Continental Hotel Zara in February. The hotel was fab, a great mix between old and new - we thought they had done a great job of preserving the building and its past whilst incorporating all the features you would expect from a luxe hotel. We especially liked the feature entrance...

Beginning of the year during our Hungary visit stayed here , it is a very classic hotel and the hall room at the concierge is great. The staffs are courteous but the taxis are very expensive there are cheaper taxis available in the city . Rooms are good but was not very satisfied with the hotel restaurant downstairs. Comfortable and clean hotel, worthy of four stars. Good beds, great bathroom, free wifi. Huge variety of foods at breakfast in comfortable surroundings. Lovely wellness centre on the top floor, with use of pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna included with Room stay, dressing gowns and slippers provided. Location let the hotel down, in a very grotty area of Budapest, too far...

Dear EmmaVolare, Thak you for your feedback. I’m very sorry that you are „against the main stream” since we get so much commendatory words for the location. You are right, we are not in the middle of the city, but in a very interesting area and just a good 10 minutes to the city center, not more. I hope –...

We got this quite cheap so wasn't expecting much and thought it all sounded too good to be true. First impressions: it looked posh and made a lot of other travellers on the bus turn their heads. (We got the airport shuttle bus) The architecture is amazing. The area made it look out of place, but don't let this put...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
