We booked Budapest Centrum Hostel based on reviews we read online. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival, the place is very homely and the manager, Alex, very welcoming. We were given a set of keys so we could come and go as we pleased. We stayed for three nights from 19th August and found the hostel to be extremely quiet,... More

This hostel is very different to any other hostel I have every stayed in. It felt more like our own apartment as we didn't see many other guests during our stay. It's run by one man, who is an interesting individual, very helpful but I found his manner strange at times. Our room was fabulous and very spacious and the... More

The hostel is located just five minutes away from the famous house of parliament, the chain bridge and of course the Danube. It's a short walk to bus stations, bicylce stations and of course to the metro. If you want to walk to the big party area of Budapest, it will take about 20 minutes by foot. The building itself... The hostel has a very good location in the center. Parking garage just a block away. We stayed in an apartment, with own bathroom, well equipped room and kitchen. Everything was very clean and neat, and the whole hostel is really good secured- Alex is extremely helpful and gives a lot of tips and information about the city. Great stay!

Alex (Innkeeper) is very caring, and has put good improvements into this great olde town location. The place is comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced. It is more secure than our house in small town USA. One of the better buys on our trip. Go there if you can.

I spent 14 days in this hostel and I was very satisfied. First of all the owner Alex is very nice and helpful, then the location is perfect and the rooms and kitchen are well equipped. The whole hostel is very clean all the time and very cosy. Soon I felt like at home. :) So I would definitely recommend... More

The hostel is in an excellent location; only about a 5-10 minute walk to the metro, and super close to the Parliament building, restaurants and supermarkets. When we arrived we were told the guests in the original room we'd booked had stayed extra nights so we couldn't have that room, but we were upgraded for free to a large apartment... More

This is a true hostel run by Alex alone, a kind and happy person (however he can be rude and upset if you report a problem). The hostel is Clean and in the best position: 2 min wolking from parliament, but in a quite road. Rooms are very clean and well-finished, but can be noisy if your neighbour are not... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
