Manager was helpful, gave us a tour and loads of information on arrival, handed us a map and pointed out landmarks, places to eat and directions to the train station. Check in was quick, our double private room was small but comfortable, there were communal toilets and showers, not the cleanest or modern but did the job. Noise travelled through...

I am amazed by this hostel and owner Anton. He welcomed me and made sure that I don't wander around Budapest, eventhough I didn't book a place. He helped me and my friend with everything, even opened a bottle of Hungarian wine and we had a chance to hear a lot about his amazing life. He is so helpful, I've...

This hostel has a very homely feel to it. The owner is possibly one of the loveliest men I have ever met. He is kind and helpful at all times. The hostel is very secure and I felt very comfortable leaving my belongings here. The hostel owner makes everyone feel welcome and is very considerate of the guests whether they...

Once I got past the less than impressive outside and the fact it's next to a gentleman's club and the stairs up to the hostel are very dark at nice, I entered a small and friendly hostel which was a delight to stay in. They were very patient despite my travel delays and helped me settle in...I had arrived on...

Very nice, homely feel hostel... Might look a bit dodgy from the outside but it's nice inside and all made better by the owner, extremely nice man! Great wifi, nice rooms, good shower facilities! Location is very good, Central enough to walk to all the necessary destinations! Great pubs and night life literally across the road too

Despite being next to a Gentlemans Club sign, this has been the most welcoming hostel of our trip thus far. Friendly welcome from the start and the owner was quick to suggest sites, ways to save money and good restaurants. We opted for a private twin to get some quiet after weeks of dorms and the price was still cheap....

The staff is amazing. The owner is a very sweet man; he was very caring and helpful. This place is pretty clean and secure. It does not feel like a hostel at all. I felt very comfortable walking around the area. Very close to the Parliament, too!!

Stayed at the hostel for three nights back in June 2014. Getting to the hostel from the train station with the bus was very easy. The location of the hostel was great! I was able to walk around the city without the use of public transportation.

I really recommend staying at HBC Hostel. It's cheap, central and the owner is really nice and helpfull. It lies close to many restaurants and bars, and walking to the city center will only you take you 5-10 mins. The owner is a really nice guy. He even made us dinner one night, free of charge.
