Great location, very close to main square and short walk to train station. Clean & comfortable. Has everything you would need for a short stay...kettle, toaster, microwave, cooker, washing machine. Plenty of towels. Bit of an issue with check in but was quickly resolved...we were checking in late so had to get keys from lock box downstairs, we were given wrong code, rang office, staff member got there in minutes & was very apologetic, when we got box open there was no key inside!!! Luckily staff member had spare key. We had got in to apartment within 15 mins of the problem. Could hear a little bit of noise from bar below but didn’t bother us. Would recommend to anyone looking for cheap & cheerful trip to krakow!

We stayed in the self catering 2 bedroom apartment last week for 3 nights, my husband, son and myself. The apartment was clean but the facilities were basic. The two armchairs in the living room were tatty. The shower wall support was broken so the shower could not be hooked up on the wall. There were no other washing facilities. The towels were really basic from IKEA. We didn’t use the kitchen facilities as I was put off by the feel of residue grease on the work surface. The people we dealt with however were very nice and helpful. They arranged our transfer from the airport on arrival and the two trips we did to Auschwitz and the Salt mines. The apartment was up on the third floor with no lift. It was not a problem for us but could be for other people. I don’t recall any mention of this when I booked the accommodation.

The apartment is 3 minutes walk from the main square. 4 minutes from the office where you get the key. Large apartment with all the needed facilities and tools. the place is clean and you have the feeling that the owners care and think about us the users (I did not have the same feeling in an apartment in Warsaw). The staff is nice, polite and helpful. What else do we need??

This is a genuinely great place to stay, location and the access to staff literally 2 minutes walk away is great. There is however a flaw, I`ve never experienced such a noisy accomodation anywhere I`ve ever stayed. No matter whet time of day or night there`s something..Sometimes the people renting the room(s) beside you are just plain arrogant and thoughtless, but honestly 2pm or 5am there is someone making an almighty racket? I still loved my trip and the safety of the apartment is always important to me..(TAKE EAR PLUGS)

So the room was a little different than expected. If you have little ones, beware there are no lifts and the stairs are very old and rickety. Apartments seem quite secure. Rooms look like student digs, wall paper was peeling off our bedroom wall, and one of the sockets appeared to be burnt? It was cheap so i guess you get what you pay for. Having said that, its situated in a great location, rooms are clean there is a washer, cooker, fridge freezer & TV. It was quiet when we stayed there. would recommend if looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay to see krakow

20 of us stayed in this apartment split over 4 rooms earlier this month and apart from having to climb stairs drunk, there was no complaints that could be made. You get great value for money, spacious clean rooms and there are several locks between the street and the apartment for security.

We have stayed on Slawkowska 11 (3 bedroom apartment) for 3 nights at the end of October. The situation is perfect - Krakow's heart. Everything is in very short distance from the apartment: Rynek (main square), Barbakan, Wavel (we loved it very much), Galeria Krakowska (shopping mall), RW & bus station. The life is boiling on every corner of the city in its numerous bars, pubs, rests of domestic & international cousine. Right on Slawkowska you can hire a green-car and get a tour to the Historic centre, Kazimierz or elsewhere. People are very kind and helpful. The apartment itself is big, clean and convenient. Recommended for 2 families with children or group of friend. Equpped with everything for daily use. The nights were a little bit noisy because of street's nightlife - but that is similar in all the cities if you live in centre. We can only highly recommend this apartment. Respect to "Star Appartments/Old Town Appartments".

Before booking I read many reviews and weighed the decision to go with the Star apartment (Old Town Apartments) carefully. I understand that "quality" is a relative term so here is my take. For the price we paid, we got great value for the money. It is basic Ikea style furnishings and flooring but all the ammenities are there. From heated towel racks, 2 bathrooms, working washing machine, very comfortable blankets, (linens could up upgraded however), comfortable beds, fully stocked, clean kitchen....the 3 bedroom place worked well for us. (If you are having someone sleep on the sofa, it is rock hard! Beds are fine.) Be aware the 3 story walk up is NOT suited for seniors or those with a lot of luggage! Its a real climb. You can look at it this way...with the inexpensive, amazing food at the restaurants in the area, you can overeat and use the workout up the stairs to the apartment as an excuse to over indulge! Location can't be beat. Its in the heart of the old town where you want to be! There are streets that have more bars and late night revellers so Slawkowska is not bad comparitively. Security door to get in and double lock on apartment door for your piece of mind was nice! If you need perfect quiet, stay farther out from the square. It certainly was no bother for us. We came for Krakow not for spending a lot on a place to stay. So this was great on our budget! We had an issue when renovation workers must have shut off the water heater, but we called first thing in the morning and it was rectified right away. The blankets were cozy enough to keep us comfortable till morning. We likely could have called that night but chose to wait till morning. We came in by train and walked about 15-20 minutes directly to the apartment and met up with a staff member there who checked us in. (Sunday arrival, early March) However, during the week realize you need to go to the office to get the keys and make payment, then head to the apartment. (office is about a 7 minute walk down through the square) You can use the office staff to arrange tours. We took the Auschwitz tour and it was worth it for us. Informative and had a great emotionally impact. Our guide was terrific. Star is a very spacious apartment, in a supurb location. Initial first impressions may not have the "wow" factor, but Krakow itself is all "WOW"! Great city to explore by foot, to indulge your tastebuds, and to shop! Star was comfortable, and I would stay there again...but maybe not with my 80 year old dad! He was proud of the fact he did so well with all the climbing but perhaps it was a bit much!

The apartment we booked was different to the one we recieved so there was not enough beds or linen for our group, staff were extremely unhelpful and had no idea what they were doing (and didn't return calls), the apartment needed a good clean, the 'egyption cotton' sheets were skummy old bedsheets, but the location was good. Definately go to Krakow, just maybe don't stay here!

Dear Guests, I am very sorry to read your review and to get to know that you did not like your stay with us. I remember discussing the whole situation with you via e-mails. You booked through external reservation system and I can assure you that the apartment you booked was the one you received. We have only one 3-bedroom apartment in the building - Star apartment and you booked this apartment category so there was no mistake. When you officially complained about the apartment, we could not accept the compalint as you received exactly what you booked. As for the cleaniness, you wrote in one of e-mails that the apartment was clean. Therefore, I am surprised to read now that according to you it needed a good clean. We really appreciate all opinions, especially the critical ones as they help us to improve our service and quality. However, we can not accept fake opinions and blackmail behaviour. I am very sorry. I remain at your service if you have any additional questions. I would appreciate if you could contact me directly. I hope we will be able to explain this unpleasant situation. Kind Regards, Joanna Kobylecka
