Our room was up at the top on the fifth floor, a converted attic. All we wanted was somewhere in a reasonable location and clean and decent. This place suited us just fine. It is about 10-15 ministers from the Prague main railway station and can also be reached by a number 9 tram, stopping at the bottom of Skolska...

Helpful and really nice staff, when we arrived they explained us how to exchange money and showed us a map with the best places to visit in Prague. Clean bedrooms, delicious breakfast. Location is very good. Close to the old town square. I highly recommend it. For sure I will come back

I booked this pension as we were just needing a base whilst exploring Prague. It was very clean and the breakfast of yogurt and cold meats and coffee was fine to start off the day. Rooms are very basic and not soundproofed so you wouldn't want to spend more than a couple of nights here just in case. However it...

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, all the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The twin room was basic, cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. In the room is a fridge, twin hot plate, kettle and microwave but cooking and eating utensils are very limited, it would be a struggle to prepare any meals. The shower /...

Pension Alabastr is a clean warm bed in a great location minutes from Wenceslas Square. If you're expecting luxury this isn't it, but it is particularly keenly priced. Wifi is a bit patchy and some of the rooms are noisy, but otherwise a recommended stay.

Always wanted to visit this city and booked this place - as a friend had booked there. I prefer pensions as you can cook your own meal - if you prefer - and they are often more characterful. I stayed the first night in a huge room overlooking the street and the remaining days situated in a room overlooking the...

Excellent city location. Ten minutes from everything you need on a short city break. Reception staff extremely friendly and very accommodating. Free wifi, flat screen TV, breakfast included and delivered to room, also there were cooking facilities in the room so it was more like a little bedsit than a hotel room. 10 min walk to central station and to...

Plus: - relatively good location, short walk to tram and metro stops and walking distance to town - large room, with cooking facilities Minus - Cleaning was rushed at best - Toilet had no proper door and ventilation and poor lighting - Breakfast was served in the room, but there was not much option and the quality was questionable

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
