We recently stayed at Hotel Dar in Prague. It is a small, charming, older hotel just around the corner from the Astronomical Clock and the Old Town Square. Our room was unique. The staff at the Front Desk was extraordinarily helpful. Her knowledge and advice went "above and beyond the Call of Duty." She helped us find everything we needed....

We stumbled across this restaurant by chance, and so glad to we did. Delicious Czech food at reasonable prices. Delicious! I will recommend to others, and hope I can find it again!! We can recommend the sirloin in gravy with cranberry, and the duck and smoked ham.

Hotel Dar has is in a great location! Close to the Astronomical clock and the Old Town Square. We had a room on the front of the hotel and it was very lout at night, with the bars and restaurants outside. The mattresses on the beds are very thin and not very comfortable.

We stayed at Hotel Dar from August 26 to September 2. The hotel is located in a narrow street a stone throw from the astronomical clock. Very nice location if you, like us, just need a haven for sleeping between sightseeing and walking the streets. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the city. Mila gave us a few...

My sister & I stayed at this hotel July 10-12, 2016. You cannot beat the location. It is right off of Old Town Square in an ally--There are a lot of allies in Prague so there is nothing odd or scary about it! Reception is small, but very friendly and helpful. They helped us with tour recommendations and bookings as...

Great location, right next to Old Town Square! Awesome breakfast. Rooms and bathrooms need upgrade. You need to explicitly ask reception for iron(and board), AC remote control, safe box keys etc. as they're not provided in the room. Staff was ready to help but communicating(in English) was bit of a problem. One of the staff members went out of the...

Clean rooms, very rich breakfast, kind staff (English speaking) at good prices in the center of the city. The best location I could desire. Mila, at the reception, was very kind and helpful in suggesting how to deal with a heavy luggage and a rented car. Thank you.

I cannot begin to describe the disappointment i feel for this place. The staff was rude and did not care for us at all. The room was small and the windows had nothing to block out the sun. There was no remote for the AC and still we paid a good 228 euros for two nights. If you have any...

The hotel is 1 min walk from the old town hall and the cloak tower. Booked the hotel during low season and got a discounted price. The hotel is very pleasant and the buffet breakfast is tasty too. I think this is the hotel which has given good service for the money you pay for!

Thank Upton S

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
