The hotel is well located in a central but quiet neighborhood, and we enjoyed walking to the Charles Bridge and Town Square and taking the nearby streetcar to the Castle. As you would expect, the property is lovely. The staff was fantastic. We visited with our 9 month old daughter and they couldn't have been more accommodating, providing a high...

We spent five rainy and cold days in Prague, but the Mandarin Oriental made up for all the discomfort. This hotel provided one of the best, if not the best, experience we have had in many years of traveling throughout Europe. The personalized service, the genuine interest of the entire staff in our welfare, the exceptional quality of all the...

The 5 star rating I gave it is based upon the service we received from those two departments and its location in a quiet section with a lovely courtyard. Rooms are good but as noted by another guest it is a old monastery. We would stay here again.

The Mandarin Oriental Prague is a beautiful hotel near the city center but our stay was not perfect as we expected of this kind of hotel: somebody was already in the room when the person from the Reception desk opened the door …. It was a really, really embarrassing situation (never happened before in any hotel). Back to the lobby,...

Prague is a magical city, and this hotel will make you feel like royalty in the land of castles. Spacious well appointed rooms with a meticulous execution of details that make you feel special. While the rooms are limited by the former monastery space, the staff was great at every level. Reception gave me an upgrade, the restaurant provided great breakfast buffets and a special lunch. Everything was at or above my expectation for a 5 star property. The hotel car service offered the best Mercedes "S" class and a knowledgeable driver as well....

We spent 4 delightful nights in this beautifully appointed hotel. Our room was spacious and really quiet as it looked out onto a lovely courtyard. Service could not have been better, mouth watering breakfasts and ideal location - near to centre but far enough away from the fray. Can not recommend it highly enough.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
