I can only echo the many positive reviews you see here. We stayed for 10 days and had an excellent stay. Walking distance to Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and close to the metro and trams if you need to travel beyond Praha 1. A very charming hotel with an excellent staff. They arranged the airport transfers for us and...

Hotel is about a 7 minute walk from Old Town, but pleasantly located on a quiet square in the Jewish quarter. Note, that the river facing rooms so not actually have a view of the river. They face the small square with a church, but due to the other buildings, no actual view of the water. Despite this it is...

We stayed at the Hastal for 5 nights. Our room was large enough and overlooked the small square and church. Hotel is very handy for most attractions and close to the tram stop. Breakfast was adequate with a cold buffet. Warm sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and baked beans. Coffee, tea and wine available all day in reception though we...

We loved the location and classic small hotel, immaculate and charming, - like I used to find but now getting harder to find - a family owned hotel. Yes, smoke smell in some areas, and I never could get control of the bathroom heater, but I'm giving the 5th star anyway because of the many nice touches and helpful people....

This is a charming, small family run hotel about a 5 minute walk from Prague's central square, so it's a great location. We stayed for 3 nights and had a room overlooking g the front on the 3rd floor; it was comfy and traditionally decorated...no complaints. Breakfast whilst was a little limited in choice (continental only) was very good and...

Loved the location. We were within walking distance to so many things. The room was clean and functional. Most people at the front desk were very helpful except one male who rolled his eyes when asked just about anything. I heard him ask many guests to fill out a satisfaction survey, but I was not asked. We spent almost a...

It is an average hotel. I would book it again if I was able to get a special deal. I was on the top floor and the windows had spiders and spider webs all over it. The shower was a nice size with lots of room esp compared to the ones in Europe but the water in the shower didnt...

I read about this hotel is Rick Steves' write-up of places to stay in Prague. Based on that and the previous reviews, I went ahead and booked my 3 night stay. I did a Google Street View drive-by (which includes a little inside navigation as well- very cool), so I kind of knew where to go and what to look...

We returned here for our 25th wedding anniversary in August. We booked the Honeymoon suite, (the one with the balcony at the front of the hotel). We were greeted by Richard at the main desk who wished us happy anniversary and checked into our room. To be honest, it seemed like it hadn't been inhabited in a while as it...

My husband and I ended our recent honeymoon in Europe with five days in Prague for the world Yoyo championship. I picked Hotel Hastal because it was in between the event venue and the main square, convenient for my sightseeing and his event attendance. We were really pleased with the choice - the hotel is absolutely charming (It is the...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
