We stayed here for two days. Easy walk or cab from the train station. Room and bath were great and large by European standards. Breakfast was great. Staff at front desk very helpful. Ask for a room that does not face the street as there is considerable noise from a nearby restaurant/bar that stays open late but otherwise it was...

This is a beautiful, old, family-run hotel on a quiet church square just minutes from the Old Town Square. The entire hotel is decorated with snippets of Prague history and the Art Deco works of Gustav Klimt. We got a deluxe room on the 4th floor overlooking the church. It was spacious and well furnished. Breakfasts were delicious (though they...

Could do better is the one thing that springs to mind with this hotel. Graffiti :A big issue which plagues most of Prague. Businesses should stamp this out in the youth with stiff penalties for offenders, business associations should lobby for action as this is a serious issue affecting the overall aesthetic. Hastal room:small but functional, I personally hate cheap...

We did not want to stay in a US chain hotel while visiting Prague. We wanted to find a hotel with character that reflected the true culture of Prague, and we found that at Hotel Hastal. The breakfast each morning offered a nice selection of both hot and cold food, with cold water and hot coffee available throughout the day....

The Hotel Hastal is the consummate small European hotel. The hotel is nicely decorated with prints of works by Czech illustrator Alfonse Mucha. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of hot and cold items including wonderful breads. The scrambled eggs were nicely done and not the rubbery variety seen in so many hotel buffets. Our standard double faced the courtyard...

My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel were overall very satisfied. When we arrived after 10:00 a.m. before check-in at 2:00, the on duty manager allowed us to check in shortly after we arrived. This was very accommodating as my wife was exhausted from the overnight flight from the U.S. After we took a short nap, we...

This is a great place to stay in Prague. It is clean, comfortable, quiet and well located. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's reasonably priced and included breakfast which is plentiful, varied and tasty. Coffee, tea and wine are available 24 hours/day. The coffee is very good. We highly recommend this hotel. This is an old hotel so if you want the latest mod-cons look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for charm, great staff, comfortable rooms, convenient city centre location and free working wifi this place is the one for you. When we arrived, Thomas the front desk manager greeted us and immediately we felt welcome here. The rooms are old...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
