We stayed here on our first night in Europe. Friendly, helpful staff greeted us and immediately upgraded us to a junior suite. How wonderful it was to spend 3 glorious days here. The suite was comfortable and spacious with a huge bathroom, living room, kitchenette and the bedroom was overlooking the Charles Bridge. I spent many hours gazing from the...

This is an impressive hotel which is perfectly located for exploring Prague on either side of the Charles Bridge. The bridge is extremely close to the hotel. If you go over the bridge there are all the delights of exploring Prague Castle otherwise only a short distance from the hotel in the opposite direction is the main square. It would...

We stayed for 3 nights in May and were thrilled to learn we were upgraded to a Junior Suite on check in. The staff are friendly and discreet - we loved the 'low key' check in area which was more like a big living room with lots of elegant furniture and great art. Our suite was stunning, with a four...

We stayed for 3 nights in May 2012. We had an executive suite (room 505). It was a huge suite over 2 floors with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Downstairs are the toilet, an open plan dining room, kitchenette, and very large lounge. It is a shame that, due to planning restrictions, the windows to the front facing the Charles...

We booked this hotel and pre-paid our stay for 5 nights. Upon arrival we were immediately told that there was no room available nor was a reservation confirmed. They blamed our travel agent yet we had as did our travel agent , written confirmation of both payment and reservation. The Staff were un- friendly and defensive. We were told they...

Excellent location, friendly staff. Hotel has the Prague atmosphere in the decor and architecture. Bathroom was spacious and very modern. Transfer from airport to the hotel is available upon request - excellent service!

It was our first time in Prague over the easter break, and we were recommended by friends and our travel agent to stay at this amazing hotel. As a family of five we had two incredible suites 202, and 402, which both overlooked the charles bridge and the palace. The rooms were palatial, a commodity not found when travelling in...

We stayed at this hotel in mid April for 4 nights. Overall, it was a great experience. We were upgraded to a suite, which was a nice surprise. It was huge, with a nice lounge, bedroom and kitchen, and well-appointed. The heating was excellent and bed comfortable. We did not have views of the Castle, which was fine as the...

I have stayed in Prague before and even though the city is stunning, my previous stay was less than perfect. This time I booked Mamaison and it was a great choice. Very nice location, lovely and peaceful rooms, great breakfast and best of all, fantastic staff! I really could not fault anything.

We spent four nights here, 4/2012. The location couldn't be better, you step out a few moments walk to the Charles bridge; in the opposite direction, 5 minutes takes you by a plethora of shops and attractive ( and very good) restaurants. This is a converted "palace" with lovely courtyards (with fabulous, modern funny bronze sculpture), very high ceilings and...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
