There are so many hotels in Prague and nowadays, most of them become rather generic. The Iron Gate is just special, so beautifully restored and they know how to treat tired, weary guests. The last time I had such welcoming service was at the famed Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Definitely one of my top 10 favourite hotels in the world.

We stayed in the Iron Gate Hotel for three nights for my husbands 30th Birthday - loved the hotel & loved Prague. You cannot get a better location than this hotel - litrally 100 paces to the old town square. Bottle of Champagne in our room as a small token to my Husband from the hotel. Breakfast was good (although...

A very lovely, stylish hotel. Perfect central location, two minutes from the Town Square. All rooms are individually furnished; service and restaurant both very good.

What a great hotel in a fantastic location! The staff were very helpful. When we arrived we found that a mistake had been made with the booking of ballet tickets. Not by the hotel but by the theatre. We pointed this out and the receptionist immediatley started to sort it out with a positive result! We loved that we could...

Just got back from our 2nd visit to Prague. Stayed at the Iron Gate (Alcron last time). I dont think you could get a better position in the old town, there are two courtyard exits - each gets you into the centre within a hundred paces! There is a downside - dont let them give you the rooms/suites above the...

We have just spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel. We arrived and were greeted by very friendly hotel staff and were offered champagne whilst we completed the registration forms. We were then offered an upgraded room, but we didnt bother with this. The bellboy then took us up to our room on the first floor, a charming room, with...

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel is just a few steps away from the Astronomical clock and an easy walk to the Charles River Bridge. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff very helpful, plus the breakfast was great. I'd definitely stay there again.

This is a great little place right in the center of Prague. Everything is within five minutes of the hotel. The rooms are large and very charming. They have a lovely restaurant in the interior court. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful hotel! I was staying 3 nights with my parents who had stayed the year before and returned. I arrived in the morning but was able to leave my bags while i wandered around before checking in knowing they were secure. Staying in room 206 which was a suite with one Queen bed and a pull out couch...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
