I can't recommend this hotel enough. The staff where so friendly and helpful for every request that was made. The hotel was very nice and extremely clean. The location is steps away from Prague Castle and a 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants right around the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Golden Wheel for 5 nights during our honeymoon, in early May 2007. Everything, starting from our booking (via email) to our check out has been perfect. Hotel location is ideal. For the ones that think about staying in Stare Mesto, in the Historic town centre, near the astronomical clock square, I urge them... More

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for 5 nights. It was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. We looked forward to the buffet breakfast every morning because it was delicious. The location was great and I would stay here again and definately recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience at The Golden Wheel. I have stayed at five star hotels in the past but nothing compared to the quality of service and style of this hotel. I decided to go to Prague for a weekend trip on my own after my friend fell ill and couldn't join me. She really missed out. The service... More

Visited in early May 2007. We had read very positive on-line reviews of this hotel and were not disappointed. Staff, hotel, room and location all excellent. Room & bathroom large, clean and comfortable. English language tv channel useful for news. Generous breakfasts & excellent omelettes made-to-order. Free internet access v useful. Would recommend hotel to anyone unless mobility is a... More

We have just returned (6 of us) from a 3 night midweek stay at the Golden Wheel Hotel. I can only describle the hotel as excellent. The position is very good (although it is more than a few steps to Charles Bridge which is stated in the description - more a 10 - 15 minute walk) but very close to... More

This hotel was brilliant and has several plus points. The room was spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the bathroom was also roomy, new and had a great shower. The location was great - just a few minutes from Prague Castle, about a 10-15min walk to the Old Town, and a few minutes walk from restaurants in the local area... More

There are hundreds of hotels in Prague and I finally settled on the Golden Wheel, after reading excellent reviews about this hotel on TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed. We have just returned from four fantastic nights in Prague staying at the Golden Wheel (U Zlateho Kola). I booked 5 or 6 weeks in advance through [----] and made huge savings... More

As a frequent user of TripAdvisor, we strongly advise you consider this charming hotel for your trip to Prague. We're just two days back from Prague after spending a glorious week in the Czech capital and were completely satisfied with the cleanliness (we're pretty fastidious), the facilities (great mix of charming old and efficient new and the breakfast buffet was... Have just returned from a fantastic few days in Prague, staying at the Golden Wheel. I scoured this site for hours trying to decide where to stay but certainly made the right choice! This is a great hotel, in a brilliant location. I much preferred staying on the castle side of the river - more peaceful at night and great... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
