I would not hesitate in staying at the Golden Wheel next time I am in Prague. It has friendly staff, spacious rooms and is in the perfect location. Couldn't ask for anything more. I would certainly recommend a stay here.

My husband and I stayed here for 12 days in November. Firstly, the location was awesome! We were out of the way, but close enough to the main parts of the city to walk to. During the whole time we only used public transportation once- we were able to walk EVERYWHERE from here. It was so lovely to be close...

We stayed 3 nights at the Golden Wheel and loved it. I saw other reviews that said the walk up the street to the hotel is too steep, but I actually barely noticed any incline, because every time I was walking to or from the hotel, I was too busy looking around at the picturesque scenery surrounding me. The street...

I loved staying here. The rooms are big and beautiful, the staff are lovely and made me feel very welcome and well looked-after, which I appreciated as a first time solo traveller to Prague. Excellent value for money and probably the most personalised service I've ever had in a breakfast restaurant. Outstanding hotel. Highly recommended! Check the location before you...

This hotel has 2 great assets: great location and super staff, who is friendly, considerate and welcoming. Our room was quite cosy and welcoming but we saw some of the other rooms which were simpler and a bit tired/grey. The breakfast offered a wide selection of items as nice coffee.

The hotel was unbelievably clean and the staff super friendly. Stayed for 3 nights in Jan and couldn't of asked for a better hotel. Value for money is second to none. Location isn't great, you'll have to walk the steep hill everyday to get to and from the main part of the city but it was a good way to...

Excellent communication with hotel prior to arrival. Checked in late in the evening, allocated room 205 which overlooks into the street. Spacious, clean and offers the extras such as slippers, flannels, rose on the bed etc. Lots of space for clothes, good bathroom - only downside was shower space was pretty tiny. Sleep quality was good and very quiet. Location...

Booked the hotel for the last few nights of our honeymoon and it could not have been better. We were luck to get the room on the fourth floor with the private terrace below the castle. What a great view and space to enjoy a pivo or sekt in the evenings. The room was excellent, spotless and very comfortable, The...

Just returned from a Christmas trip to Prague and the Golden Wheel - what a wonderful hotel! Rooms were comfortable, full of character and very clean. Staff was amazing - so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Location was perfect - 10 minute walk to Prague Castle, same to Lesser Square streetcar stop. Charles Bridge and Old Town...

We loved this hotel. Only short walk from underground, slight uphill walk which we didn't find to be too challenging. Short walk to the amazing castle and Charles bridge. The hotel itself is small but beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous old and modern style with a very comfortable bed. We had breakfast...

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
