Hi. Stayed in this hotel for two nights on 27 & 28 October this year. Not the best hotel in the world but perfectly acceptable for the price of about £50/night. We booked two single rooms but were given two large double rooms for the same price. I would recommend booking direct with the hotels web site as they give...

Great location, (five minute walk to the Square & Charles Bridge) Staff friendly and helpful, room (8) spacious, clean and comfortable and not overly priced for a Capital city. Didn't have dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast was spot on !! First visit to the Czech Rep & would definitely book here again.

Stayed at the King George on December 2006. Had room 15 which is the attic room with 2 single beds shown on the website. It was a clean, cosy room and we loved it. The hotel is small and quite basic and there are no tea & coffee facilities in the room which was a shame, but I knew this...

We read the few negative reviews below after we'd reserved a week at the hotel so were really anxious and almost booked somewhere else. Once we were shown to our room we were so glad we stayed! The room was enormous (aside from the low beams), clean and well-decorated (please remember it's a 14th Century building!) We were on the...

We booked this hotel through a czech website and as we do not like staying in large hotels we were very pleased with what we found. Our room was at the back of the building so was quiet. It was large and basically furnished but was clean and well fitted. It was all we had hoped for and even had...

I have stayed here over the years and the quality of the hotel management has completely declined this year. Three times I have arrived there with a "confirmed written" reservation only to find that "the clerk made a mistake", "a new girl was working here and made an error; she is not working here now, "your room is occupied". If...

I had booked this hotel based on past reviews and recommendations from various guide books. I am from Prague, and speak Czech, and wanted my group of cycling friends from America to experience a genuine historic hotel. I had made the reservations well in advance. When we got to the hotel, we too saw the dilapidated state of the building,...

The accommodation provided was adequate for our short stay in Prague, however I found it to be over-priced. The reception had made an error with our booking - they had booked only 2 nights rather than 3 - they had doubled booked our room. On our return from a full day of exploring, we were told that we had to...

I feel the pain of the two previous reviewers, because I had a similar terrible experience at King George Hotel. I booked here based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor and in travel books. I will not make the same mistake again. We arrived to find a fairly dingy building almost across the street from a "gentleman's club." The...

When a friend and I booked this hotel we only meant to stay 2 nights but the charms of Prague got to us and we asked the front desk staff to extend our stay by one night. We thought it was all OK except it wasn't and to our horror we returned to the hotel after a day out to...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
