I hate to write reviews where I give a place a bad rating, but here goes. The building itself was completely lacking in any character, architecture, style, personality or any quality that would make it even remotely interesting. Unfortunately, the same can be said for the staff. The hotel can best be described as having the look and feel of...

The place is very run down and also dirty. The showers and toilets was not clean. Toiletpaper was missing. The room was run down with broken furniture. I like hard beds but this was to hard for me. Sometimes noisy in the nights. Maby a place for poor backpackers but not for me. Wifi only worked in the unfriendly reception....

This hostel is very close to the city center, which was very convenient. The staff at the counter were also very friendly and understand English pretty well. They gave us plenty of free maps, along with directions and tips of advice for the city. The downsides of this hostel are the following. First of all, for a private twin room,...

We checked out of this hostel about an hour after we checked in, there were big holes in the wall, the window didn't shut properly, the bed sheet had dirt on top of it under the duvet, under the bed sheet were the remainder last occupiers snacks ( crisp crumbs obviously just ignored and not cleaned) the room smelled of...

I cannot stress enough how terrible this place really is. I have stayed in several hostels over the last few years but this is on another level. First of all the urine scented middle-aged drunk men hanging around in the reception area at midday wasn't the nicest welcome. The place itself looks like an old prison - dim blinking lights...

We stayed here for two nights last week. We were three friends on a budget holiday. We found the place good. Lets first accept that this is a budget hostel and it had everything of a hostel. Rooms were large, clean linen were provided and it was cleaned everyday. The bathroom is shared. Some issues were there on day one...

I can't really say many positives about this place. If you have heavy bags it is the closest place to the railway station. It is also very cheap. The downside is that the rooms are very basic and it feels like you are in an asylum. Porthole windows on the internal doors? Someone had stuck a paper smiley face on...

This place haunts my sleep. I have been to many hostels in my days and i don't usually mind the more spartan approach. But i can not recommend anyone to stay at this hostel. Very unclean, noisy and undriendly staff. Do not stay here!

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
