Stayed here 4 nights as we started our trip thru the Czech Republic. They totally spoiled us! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were labeled as deluxe and were spacious, clean and comfortable. Mine had a small deck attached with a nice sitting area. Really very special. Breakfast room was nice, food was good and...

Stayed three nights with my wife on our third trip to Prague. Found hotel location to be fantastic, I upgraded the room but was disappointed not to have a view of the castle as stated in previous reviews. Being in June the weather was hot so we left the air conditioning on all the time but found it didn't really...

U-Pava hotel, Prague, is in the heart of the best part of the city. Our room was lovely with tons of old world charm and the view was breathtaking! We woke to birds singing in the park below and Prague Castle framed perfectly just outside our window. The hotel has all the amenities one might expect from a first rate...

Stayed here a little ways back, in a perfect location, 5 minutes to all the action but far enough to have peace and quiet. Breakfast was good, but the best part was the attentive and polite staff that work there. The receptionist is a first class lady. And to top it off the place was very and surprisingly inexpensive. 5...

It's a rare thing to find a little gem of a hotel like U Pava. Prague is a spectacular place and the magnificent Charles bridge is its most iconic attraction, bridging the architecturally delightful Old Town from the no less beautiful, but quieter Mala Strana neighbourhood, where near the foot of the bridge, on a calm, forested square, you can...

U Pava is a small hotel, with tons of character and very nicely appointed rooms, wonderful staff and a location that is unbeatable. On a cobbled street just below the busy Charles Bridge, it offers a quiet neighborhood feel only steps away from the masses on the bridge. The dozen or so restaurants in the immediate surrounding Mala Strana area...

Hotel U Pava was a true find! A small hotel with a great location. Not far from Charles Bridge and other sights. Everyone at hotel was nice, and, the breakfast did come with the room. The room was fine for 2 people, furnished with mostly antique furnishings that blended in well with the room and the hotel. Also, opened window...

We booked into this hotel during our trip to Prague as our previous hotel was awful. The receptionist could not have been nicer and more helpful, showing us the room prior to us booking it etc. The hotel was in an excellent location for us, we thoroughly enjoyed being in the older part of Prague and our room was certainly very...

This was my second visit in five months and again I really enjoyed it. This time I upgraded to one of the Deluxe rooms and it was definitely worth it to get a gorgeous view of the castle and also to get the use of the lift. Everything was just as good as in the Summer. It's great to have...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
