The hotel has a great location (very close to the center). Hotel would rate 3 +, but it is very clean. Unfortunately, I did not taste the snacks, I would welcome Czech traditional food. Receptionists are very nice just to see they have a lot of work and do not have much space to care for the client ....... I...

A rather stark exterior and underwhelming entrance opens up into a utilitarian reception. The staff are great and helpful all with excellent English. The room we had on the 2nd floor was minimalist with beech and chrome furniture in a two tone white and tan room. Bathroom was excellent with a large shower, the supplied toiletries were ok and the...

The hotel is a relic if the communist era, built in the early 1930s but has been modernised and is reasonably priced, which includes breakfast. The bedroom was warm, clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is best described as serviceable rather than luxurious but perfectly acceptable. The staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast was adequate and the...

We stayed at this hotel first week in May, the transport options to get there were fairly simple once you get you head around the trams and underground and the location to the city centre is perfect. Lots of food places nearby including Subway, Starbucks, KFC and McDonalds. There is also a Istanbul Donner up the road which is halal...

The was my first trip to Prague and an Eastern European country - I have visions of orange wallpaper, flowery carpets and potatoes and cabbage for breakfast. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the AXA Hotel - it's a brutalist 1930's building that has been modernised - reminds me of an old school boarding house with concrete painted...

We needed a place to spend the night as we arrived late and altough it was not close to our destination the price was really good and the comments about the breakfast were very tempting. Check-in was correct and quick, the room was enough for an overnight stay and very clean. The duvet was quite short and did not cover...

Spotlessly clean hotel, very functional in its design, good location, breakfast is good, wide variety. Almost looks like a shopping centre as you come in but don't let that put you off. Worth a return visit.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
