If you are looking for a weekend trip away to explore Prague (as I was for a surprise for my boyfriend) Hotel Maximilian is perfect. The staff were exceptional, and provided lots of help and genuine enthusiasm in the planning of the surprise, not to mention arranging beautiful touches in the room (balloons, strawberries, cake and sparkling wine!) The location...

Having come straight from an alleged '5 Star' hotel in Greece we were delighted to be back in a boutique hotel, where 'relationship' with staff is possible and they know who you are. We stayed 5 nights and found the hotel well placed for getting around by foot in a quiet neighbourhood but with all the delights of Prague walkable....

Location in the old town, just can't be better. Everything in walking distance. Even if you would like to get to Mala Strana, the opposite side of the river Vltava, it is just 10 min stroll. Comfortable mattress, quite big rooms. I love breakfast they serve. Wide buffet offer, different omelette/eggs on request and alway some seasonal specialities - look...

Great location five minutes from main historic area. First class hotel very clean and modern. Staff are a credit to the hotel -all very friendly and efficient. And the breakfast is the best I have had in a hotel abroad. It does not however have a standard bar but with all the pubs nearby it is a very minor issue....

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
