Unfortunately, we did and only checked the reviews afterwards. I echo all the negative comments and clearly this place is designed to rip off unwary tourists. We have been travelling in the Czech Republic for awhile and have had nothing but positive experiences, even in Prague which is so overrun with tourists you might expect more unfortunate experiences. We had...

The location was wonderful. Although close to the main centres, it was a quiet getaway. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room, the attic, was spacious and beautiful. Walking up close to 60 steps was well worth the effort.

Situated in Na Kampe, just 100 yards or so from the Charles Bridge, this is a little oasis in a bustling tourist area. The building dates from the 17th Century and has three rooms, We stayed on the top floor in an attic room full of exposed old beams. The room is huge and has a kitchen, dining, seating and...

Rezidence Dvorak is a treat, with only 3 guest rooms, one per floor, in a quiet location only a moment from Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. We stayed 4 nights in the large loft-style apartment on the top floor which was delightful, but not suitable for tall people due to its sloping ceilings. Regarding access, there is no lift as...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
