I chose to stay in the Hostel Downtown for my 2 days stay in Prague and i wish i stayed more. I came to this city and i left with good memories and new friendships. It was a truly exeptional stay. The hostel is cheap, but it is very clean, the staff is welcoming and very helpful (Hello Brent!) and... More

We arrived a bit late from our train from Berlin and as soon as we arrived Brent gave us a friendly welcome and offered us food which was much needed after a long journey, he also took us on a beer tasting trip which was excellent. Couldn't recommend this hostel enough such a warm and friendly atmosphere thanks to the... More

The location of the hostel was excellent! I highly recommend joining Brent Davey for the cooking activity at the hostel so much fun! He cooked delicious Italian food and it was nice getting to know new people as well. Also the pub crawl with Brent was great, he took us to some of the best places for a drink and... More

Whether you're traveling alone, with 1 other person, or in a group, staying here will be the best decision you make. I traveled with my roommate, and we stayed at Hostel Downtown for 4 nights. We stayed in a private room with two twin beds and a private bathroom, and we had an AMAZING view out our window! They have... More

I went on a month trip through Europe and Hostel Downtown was by far the best hostel I stayed in. It was more so the atmosphere of the place. The people who stayed there and the staff were very friendly. There is a piano there too which is also a plus, and the rooms were quite nice. One of the... More

The hostel has a great location, all the facilities that you need and so on, but what really sets this hostel apart from the rest is how they actively try to make it fun with events and tours (much better than the city free tours!). The free dinners especially was a nice addition, not so much because it was free... More

I stayed in hostel downtown for 3 days. My original stay was only going to be 2 days, but after the first night I had to extend it because of the fun I was having! The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Lockers in the rooms. The reception staff was really helpful in letting me know things to do in... More

Friends and I just stayed there in a private triple room with bathroom. The room was large, spacious, and clean. Felt like we had our own little flat in Prague. It came with three separate beds (no bunk beds!), a table with three chairs, little closet, nightstands with lamps on them. The bathroom was located off to the side of... More

We hat our family reunion in this Hostel and where a group with ages varying from 11 to 80. Everyone enjoyed the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, which was created by the highly motivated staff. Besides good accommodation the hostel offers a variety of activities. Apparently we where not able to participate in all of them, but the Ghost Tour through... More

This hostel was a great place to stay in Prague! The location was absolutely perfect and easy to get to from the main train station. The breakfast served at the hostel is well worth the money- they had these great little pancakes I couldn't resist. I took a couple of excellent walking tours with Mirek and his adorable dogs, Jessie... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
