The Prague Lion hostel has a less than auspicious facade, but once inside, the rooms and the friendly people behind the desk won me over immediately. Actually, Anna, the person on duty began helping us before we even arrived. We were a party of five with two young and beautiful teenage girls, and needed two taxis. We'd been warned not...

Prague Lion Hostel has a wonderful position: it's close to Moldava River, the Dancing House, the Opera House, Tesco and just 10 minutes walking from Old Square and from the Castle. The staff was very kind and our room was wide and bright and good smelling...this is the cleanest hostel I've never seen. There are only 2 rooms for each...

Hostel location is only 5 minutes from metro station but in a small back street. Unfortunately, we arrived at night time and got lost even we had instructions. So it would be better for hostel to give instruction in enlarged vicinity map instead of text. But we were fortunately to meet a nice young Czech who brought us to hostel....

Great hostel, close to metro stops, supermarkets and restaurants. Staff were soooo friendly and lovely. Shared bathrooms were very clean (very rare) and our room, although small was lovely and homely. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed 3 nights at the end of April and loved this hostel. Three of us paid $26 each (through hostels.com) for a huge room with attached kitchen (fridge, microwave, non-working stove, cutlery, some dishes and dining table). We booked a room with a shared bathroom, but only shared with one other room, so it wasn't inconvenient. The location in...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
