We booked a one-night tented camp experience with the Manvar team which was totally amazing. The atmospheric fort-like resort is also really characterful but we used it as a stopping point to drive out into the wilderness for an evening open jeep drive (we saw eagles and gazelle and we visited a local household, as well as doing some dune slides!). On arrival in the camp we rode camels along the ridge above it while the sun set and when we arrived back in the camp the staff had lit beautiful candles and fire-bowls all around the tents. It felt like we were in Lawrence of Arabia! This theme continued as we sat like kings on low cushions wrapped in blankets (it gets cold here at night at this time of year) while a group of amazing local musicians played for us on a wide variety of amazing instruments. The singer was incredible and the dancer, who is from a local gyspy community, was entrancing. We absolutely loved it. Then we were treated to a feast mostly cooked in the open air, with many delicious dishes. My favourite was the tandoor-roasted paneer appetiser, which I could have eaten all night. Paired with a glass of really chilled Sula (Indian Sauvignon Blanc), it could not have been bettered. Hot water bottles in the bed and blow-heaters going at full pelt meant the tents were toasty and heavy blankets kept us warm till dawn. The next morning we refused the early morning excursion to see the cranes so we could sit on the terrace in front of our tents and enjoy tea and tranquility before returning to the chaos of Jodphur. A magical interlude.

I only stayed at Manvar Kumat for one night with my family but I will never forget it. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and they organized everything perfectly. From visiting a local village family during the desert safari (and seeing gazelles, foxes, wild boar, etc) to the amazing musical and dance performance before dinner, to the skilled massage therapist, and even allowing us to request dishes completely off the menu. What we loved most was the environmental sustainability of the whole site and getting to know the staff who came from the local rural villages and hearing their stories. Almost forgot to mention how spacious and comfortable the tents are. Thank you so much to everyone at Manvar Kumat for the great time.

Had a wonderful stay in beautifully made tents amidst the mesmerising desert landscape. Was very calming and rejuvenating. The entire setup was very environment friendly that local desert fauna like Nilghai were moving freely around the tents. Each and every staff took care of our stay to make it comfortable. Overall the experience was wonderful and we wish to come here again.

Our vacation at Manvar Kumat luxury tent resort was an incredible experience. From the time of arrival to departure we were treated like royalty. The resort accommodations (luxury tented modern rooms), the ambiance, the eating and sitting areas indoor and outside with the stone fireplace and the separate courtyard with a fire-pit, the outdoor pool, the spa rooms, all conveyed a sense of luxurious calmness and serenity with attention to detail. The erstwhile property is matched by the grace and hospitality of all the staff, starting with the manager Mr Pushpindra Singh who reached out to us even before we arrived to make sure he could arrange a hot lunch waiting for us on arrival, to our main server Mr. Ramjan who treated us as family and took care of all our meals (Indian cuisine) and any other need we had. Mr Pushpindra singh went out of his way to greet us at every juncture and even accompanied us on the early morning sunrise Desert Jeep Safari while explaining the flora and fauna of the Desert Forest.
The sunset camel ride in the desert-was a new and unique experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The camel herders made us very comfortable in getting on and off the camels which can be a little scary if you have never done it before.
The last night of our stay we were treated to a lovely hourlong poolside music and dance performance by a local troupe who were extremely talented in the classical musical instruments such as the his and her flutes, the mouth string, and the beautiful saranga. They performed classical songs and dances including some popular ones from recent Bollywood movies also. Mr Pushpindra singh then introduced us to each of the musicians individually. This was capped by an impeccable drinks (cocktails and wine) and dinner served by the staff in front of the patio wood burning fireplace.
This stay was on par with any high end Taj, Leela or Oberoi stay we have had in other parts of India and we would definitely recommend it to all if you are looking for a quick, luxury getaway for a couple of days.

Amazing place with extremely warm reception! Attention to detail was spot on! The local folk songs/ dance by the camp fire and snacks/ drinks was very memorable!
The accommodation was very posh and spacious!! The staff were so friendly and took care of all needs immediately! The chef was well aware of food allergy to nuts and made food fresh and separate to accommodate it! So thankful!
The camel ride through the dunes was fun! The jeep safari was successful and fun while we spotted Nilgais, wild boars, gazelle deers, wild camels and birds!!
Would definitely recommend this place to everyone and we would like to spend more time just here.

Wow, my family and I were completely blown away by all that Manvar Kumar Desert Resort had to offer. The level of hospitality, the warmth of every single staff member was unmatched. We came to the resort after more than a week long stay in Mumbai. To say that the desert resort was a necessary reprieve is an understatement. The jeep safari experience was educational and fun, but the camel safari ride was an experience of a lifetime. The local camel riders were very kind and we could not have asked for a better sunset. Our only regret is that we did not book a longer stay at the resort! Highly highly recommend!!
Details: Although the rooms are tents, they are heated and have all the usual hotel amenities you could ask for. The staff made sure the temperature of each tent was cozy by the time we retired to bed. Heated pool, heated showers, electrical outlets, WiFi, etc.

Once again, MANVÄR was a pleasure to stay in. I came back this year for the second time. What a great suggestion from Mr. Pushpendra! to visit the same resort again - Mr. Pushpendra was the most gracious kind attentive host I have experienced in India. His meditation practice, added so much genuineness warmth and depth to his service! All the service staff were incredible. Ramjan the bar manager was incredibly enthusiastic and joyful in his service including walking me to the farm introducing me to village life and plants in the area. Bilal the waiter with his quiet sweet presence and attentiveness, and Mr. Mahendra as well made me feel so welcome and taken care of. Every staff at the resort has been a pleasure to be with. The chef makes such wonderful food and was meticulous in accommodating my special requests. It was an extra bonus to meet the founder and owner, Mr. Moti Singh Rathore! What an honor to be in his presence!
The resort is so elegant and functional most comfortable spacious and quiet. I stayed five nights this time enjoying the recently upgraded heating in the pool and a spa. Mr. Pushpendra and the driver took me out to the desert sand dune and conservation lands and also arranged a special visit to the local camel herder with 40+ camels grazing in the desert!
Overall this is the best desert camp I've experienced and I would definitely stay at Manvar Kumat again!

This place is a hidden gem! Truly an oasis in Rajasthan. The tents at the Kumat property are fabulous, the bathroom is well equipped and there’s a gorgeous sit out to take in the landscape! Our trip would have been incomplete without the care and hospitality from their welcoming staff - Pushpendra, Ramjan, Bilal and Mahendra all took the utmost care of us. We opted to do a private dining experience - the set up was done with a pathway lit with candles and a beautiful table set up secluded from the property from where we were able to see the stars. Super romantic for any couples looking to celebrate! We also did the jeep excursion which included a fun jeep ride by our expert driver Shahid, visiting a local family to learn about their culture and spotting some beautiful birds- this is a super fun for all activity.
For anyone who loves a pool remember to bring your swimsuit!! As they have a temperature controlled pool and most beautiful patio to listen to the birds and relax. This was my favourite part of the trip.
There is a cultural program everyday for the residents- traditional Rajasthani singers and dance. They will arrange a range of experiences for you such as camel ride at sunrise/sunset, private dining in the desert/hotel, safari and spa services. They also accommodated for us to try a lot of the local cuisine which was very kind and the food was great, you know it’s made fresh and is very homely.
The property is a two hour ride from Jodhpur airport, secluded from the hustle bustle of life- perfect for anyone looking to really switch off and enjoy being around nature.
Overall a 10/10 experience and would highly recommend to everyone!
