We chose to stay here as a base for exploring the ampitheatre and sentinel. Our first day was shrouded in cloud and paying for the wifi in the lodge lounge was an expensive distraction but tempered by the friendly and helpful staff. When the sun came out the place was transformed with stunning views of the drakensberg revealed. The large...

We had read Tripadvisor and were slightly put off by the vitriol of a previous guest. So our expectations were open-ended to say the least. From the moment of arrival to our time of departure we were delighted with our stay. The setting in the national park, with its magnificient views is outstanding (albeit, shrouded for one whole day in...

We spent two nights in the lodge as a base for our hiking in the Drakensberg and it was fantastic. Definitely the ideal place to stay if you want to explore the Amphitheatre. Lovely new rooms with heating and electric blankets to thaw after a cold and wet hike. Spectacular views from our window, friendly staff and great service. Will...

Bungalows are cosy and warm fitted with electric blankets. Had the most delicious beef stew with scrumptious veggies for dinner - perfect meal for the weather up there. Breath taking views and some spooky mist as the evening rolled in. Staff were friendly. Lovely accommodation with loads of tourists there going on hiking trails. Would love to go back when...

I visited as I did the Tugela Falls hike over the last weekend and I have to say the location and views are absolutely fantastic. I stayed in a chalet which was beautifully decorated and while they can be a little cold, they have gone out of their way to cater for this i.e. multiple heaters, electric blankets and good,...

This is our third visit to Witsieshoek mountain lodge and again we were overwhelmed by the stunning views on the Amphitheater and Sentinal. This is one of our most favorate spots in the whole world. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. The only negative thing about this lodge is that the builders of...

You need to visit Witsieshoek at least once in your life. Especially when it snows. One can reach the top by 4x4 easily and be rewarded with a stunning view of the Sentinel etc. This is also a great place for birders. The dinner we ordered was priced well and was terrific. The not so good: Managers. Introduce yourself at...
