Bosque del Cabo is a romantic getaway and a naturalist’s dream, come true. Crowning a point 500 feet above where the Golfo Dulce meets the Pacific Ocean, nestled in the unspoiled jungles of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is a paradise found. Located in a unique and fortunate position at the very tip of the Osa Peninsula in the southern Pacific region of Costa Rica, this 750+ acre forest reserve features private, spacious bungalows and gorgeous houses perched atop the cliffs of Cabo Matapalo, each with beautiful ocean views, tropical breezes and the rainforest at your doorstep; or choose beautiful and rustic garden view accommodations surrounded by thriving rainforests. Hiking trails lead you through the forest to deserted beaches on both the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean. Bosque del Cabo, which opened its doors as a hotel in 1990, is owner operated and dedicated to forest preservation.

We spent three wonderful days at Bosque del Cabo. The grounds are magnificent and the accommodations very comfortable. We had a group of 4 and stayed in Casa Blanca, a small house complete with kitchen, living room, and a fabulous deck with sunny and shaded areas and a view of t

We had been to Bosque 3 times, every summer! Off course we love it. We been to Costa Rica several times but after going to Bosque, we never go any other place. This place is a peace of haven. The property is beautiful with so many species of plants and animals to see without havi

Bosque del Cabo, a rainforest lodge, is a multi-decade labor of love by the owners, Phil and Kim, and it shows in their attention to detail (from architecture, to plantings, to addressing your special needs, arranging fun expeditions, and much much more.) Their commitment not on

I have been fortunate enough to travel to a lot of places in my life. However, I believe that Bosque del Cabo Rainforest Lodge is one of the most special and unique places I have ever been. Many people have talked the talk of environmental protection but very few have walked th

Hi, I loved your review and comments about the lodge and was wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions. What is ab-sailing? Is there any sailing nearby? Is there any wi-fi at all? Can you go horseback riding on the property? If so, is it by the hour or half day? Is the hike to the waterfall steep and is the only way down to the ocean walking? Are the tide pools hot from a volcano beneath? Is the pool water warm?
Regarding wifi: Yes there's wifi in the bar. Considering how remote you are at Bosque del Cabo, the quality if excellent.

Any trouble sleeping because of heat/humidity?
We were there in late May, early June. I am hot natured. I DID have difficulty sleeping, though my wife did not. I must say, though, that there is no better place on earth to be hot in! We can’t wait to get back to Bosque del Cabo.... hot or not!

How would the weather be roughly week of July 24th. I know we cant predict weather and I have looked at historical. Traveling with a 4 year old to see lots of wildlife and dont want to be cooped up from heavy rains. Any dengue fever risk? Malaria pills needed? Number of days to spend here at Bosque del cabo? Thanks for any advice. Ryan
I would suggest you look at the July weather for Panama City - coastal as opposed to San Jose (in the mountains). I suspect that it will be very hot and humid. It was in March. The balcony railings at Bosque may not secure a 4 year old. I suggest you check that one out. As to dengue and malaria talk to your family doctor.

Hi there ~ can anyone recommend the best shoes to pack? We are planning on doing a lot of hiking but don't want to pack our hiking boots. Or can anyone describe the trails (and off trails?) Thanks!
Wear light hiking shoes; good idea to have something with a decent tread to avoid slipping and something that can get wet without problem.

Hello, We have a trip planned for Easter week and are trying to pack as minimally as possible to accommodate the local flight's 30 lb. maximum luggage weight limit. Is there a dress code for dinner or can we wear shorts, top and flip flops?
Not sure which carrier you are flying - We flew Sansa. We stayed for one week at Bosque Del Cabo and each brought only one carry on. There was one person in our group whose bag weighed more than 30 lbs. It was not an issue. Hope this helps!
