Staying here with young children. Surprised to learn mid-visit that they close half the bathroom facilities mid-week during peak season, particularly when you pay a premium rate at this time of year. Nice location but have found friendlier staff at other parks in the area.

Recently returned from a weekend trip and have been visiting this park for many years with family and friends.
Having booked this trip at Christmas time we were all very excited to attend, especially as we have fond memories of our trips away. We stayed in one of the newer cabins which was situated by the entrance and a good spot near the river for fishing. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome but unfortunately the welcoming customer service stopped once the payment was handed over.

This is not the park to attend if you want to enjoy a fun family weekend away. You’ll be treated like petulant children with a strict lights off and 10.30 bedtime. When packing for your weekend away, leave your sense of humour and pack of cards at home as these won’t be welcomed by the management team. We were aggressively scolded for having fun as a family and would have appreciated being spoken to like the mature adults that we are.

Nice shady caravan park by the river. Watch toddlers as it’s fast flowing n easily accessible from the bank. Corellas flyover at 5.30am for an early morning wake up. Children under 12 must be supervised in playground n pool. No air circulation in toilets n small windows kept closed so not a good Covid safe plan but is clean. Kitchen has microwave, n fridge but no gas burners or stove. Not much for teenagers.

Hi Flyer597278, Our COVID plan is second to none and the ventilation you speak of to the Ablutions Block is through fixed ventilation via skylights through the roof which is why we very seldom have condensation in our bathrooms. About the time of your stay, some one continually jammed a chair to stop the Ladies toilet door from closing which created a greater health risk as this allowed every blowfly and insect access to the toilets,

We have never been treated so badly in our life, it was a complete nightmare!
Me and three other friends arrived 6 days ago as we received a job offer from Koala cherry. We paid a week in advance to stay in this caravan park. Last night I was awakened at midnight by noises. Went out from the car and saw the manager Jamie was yelling at the couple who was staying next to our site and throwing their personal stuff. I politely asked the manager if they could lower their voice as it was midnight and we all have been getting up at 5am everyday for work. The manager yelled at me and asked me to leave the caravan park, I tried to calm him down as I could smell the alcohol on him and told him he could sort it out tomorrow morning and there was no point to yell at the couple and wake everyone up in the midnight. He was raging and went to take pics of our car plate number, threatening to send it to Koala cherry and all other farms in Tasmania, "to make you all lose your job", that's what he said.
The couple left at midnight after being verbally abused by the manager.
The next morning he threw my stuff out of the kitchen and fridge, turned off the power and shower, yelled at me and my friends, we were forced to leave the caravan park, even though we had already paid a week in advance.
FYI, I have no idea what happened between the couple and the manager, the couple is not member of our group, we were forced to leave because we asked him to keep his voice down at midnight and reason with him. We have been very respectful to people, never making any noises or disrespectful behavior towards others. I do feel sorry for the couple, no one deserves to be called a sl*t and treated the way they were treated.

I have the whole situation recorded and am happy to pass it to any related department/media. I have also contacted the Consumer Rights Vic to prepare to file a complaint.

We would appreciate an apology as this is not how people should be treated and this kind of behavior should not be encouraged especially since this is a family friendly caravan park. Apparently if you checked the reviews on this caravan park, there were many cases about people getting false accusations and being kicked out by the manager.
Stay out of this caravan park if you don't want your holiday to turn into a nightmare!

We had a great stay at Breakaway. Staff were friendly, especially Rose who always greets you with a huge smile.
Amenities were kept very clean and camp ground tidy.
We used the park as a base to explore Eldon, The Great Rail Trail and a couple of the gorgeous water holes close by. There was a lot of smoke haze while we were there so we didnt climb any mountains but that would have been another thing we would have loved to do as well as Marysville. But we ran out of time.
My son would have been happy enough spending our 4 days solely at the park. He had a great time. Always something to keep him busy.
Thank you for a great stay, highly recommend!

Our group of 14 spent the long weekend in this great park in a mixture of Tents, Caravans & Cabins along the river. Some of us are regulars for this weekend going back 15+ years. We found the park to be quiet, the managers were friendly and engaging.
On arrival we were accompanied to our site by the manager and received a friendly gidday during regular park patrols.
Facilities are quite a walk up on the higher bank but minor inconvenience for being able to enjoy pristine river views. Booked again for next year.

Stayed two nights for a family gathering, in two groups, one 3br house. Management were accommodating to all my calls and questions, flexible on our schedule and helpful at all times! Could not have done more!
The park is excellent, great facilities for kids. Even in winter the river and views are stunning!
Great heating, very comfy beds and warm doonas! Close to town yet you would never know.
I will definitely be back!!
Thank You!

This is our second trip to the park this year, it is one of my all time favourite spots. We found the staff nothing but friendly and welcoming, always checking in and making sure guests are having a great time. The cabin we stayed in was very spacious and has everything you need. The view of the river is breathtaking, you honestly can’t beat this spot.

What a beautiful place of peace! With new Managers Tim and Jamie in place this park has improved in leaps and bounds!
With beautiful river views, great amenities, family friendly areas and playground etc. We had a wonderful holiday with our family and friends enjoying the sun, open fires, fishing, daily adventures to all the fantastic tourist places of interest in the area and just making memories on the gorgeous banks of the Goulburn river. We can not wait to get back and make more memories in this beautiful part of the world. Thank you again to The owners and managers for all the time and effort you’ve put in to improve the park and make it the best it can be!

Had a short stay here in our caravan over the Xmas New Year Period. Very busy but everyone well behaved, even on NY's Eve. Pity about the Cockies though. They screech most of the day and gear up with a vengance at 5.30am every morning. They pick off the leaves so there is lot of mess around the park, not the fault of the managers of course. . Clean amenities and a great pool and bouncing pillow for the kids. Beautiful spot of the 2 rivers. Lovely to sit in and cool off when weather was over 40. Second stay here. Will return again.

Is the river safe for swimming (kids under 12) or are currents to strong?

Not safe for swimming - fast running currents along there!

Hello Darrin, the Goulburn River that runs through the park is only suitable for tinnies at certain times of the year generally all warmer months when the river is up. As for leaving your boat in the water that is not an issue as quite a few people do this during their stays at the park. Hope this answers your question and thank you for your enquiry.
