The tranquil location, brilliant and magnificent views with its unending scenic beauty will captivate you completely. This glittering jewel in the Himalayan necklace offers a welcome break in the peaceful scenic natural splendor. The pristine beauty of the region and the pleasant weather at all times, gives the place a very distinctive character which soothes your mind and calms you beyond words. On offer are four inviting and tastefully decorated rooms with attached bathrooms. The rooms have been creatively named after the state symbols of Uttrakhand. The rooms with attic are named Buransh and Brahmkamal after the state tree and flower respectively. The attic is an added attraction for both kids and adults. The non attic rooms have been named on the state bird Monal and the state animal Kasturi .

An amazing stay to wrap up a very taxing 2020 (Dec 25- Jan 2). 9 of us, age group 5-65 unanimously agree on this being one of the best vacations ever, made possible by the majestic beauty of the place, exceeded only by the brilliant services provided by the staff. Sandeep (owner) just a call or a message away and ever-responsive to all our concerns, questions and fears (given the pandemic). Dinesh and Harinder ever-smiling and courteous. The Cottages are located strategically at about 1.5 hrs from Nainital in a small village called Nathuakhan, dotted with trees, winding roads and traditional houses. Adventure-seekers can go on trips and follow trails (ask for help), nature lovers can soak in the beauty of the trees of all sorts, spot mountain birds; and the ones looking to relax can simply sit back and soak in the sun. Surprisingly and thankfully, we didn't see a single monkey visiting the property! The 4 cottages are simple yet have all modern facilities to make for a comfortable stay. 2 of them have attic rooms with an additional low-bed. The blankets warm enough to not let the low temperatures bother us at night. The attached bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. The front lawn flaunts a gazebo in the centre where you can request for bonfire. There is a separate dining area where travelers can relax and enjoy delicious meals, watch TV, play board games or pick up one of the many books available.…

The agenda of the trip itself was to get away from the usual hustle-bustle specially after not traveling anywhere in entire 2020! Finally decided to look for places where the brain mode could go in idle mode for 7-8 days. Finally found an isolated property within 7 hours radius from Delhi - The Calm Cottages. It's nested few short hours away from Nainital and perfect for a calm, serene and refreshing new year. The cottage was spacious with a plus point being having an attic with a king size sleepover there by making 3 of us accommodate very easily. Here's the irony though - and not gonna lie - the views, rooms and the property overall did 50% justice to my brain. Of course, this was not going to make up for a great holiday that I thought of. But thankfully, and luckily - Dinesh and Harinder made sure to fulfill and satisfy the remainder. Awesome cooks. Helpers. Period. How? This was after realization that if on an average I ate 2 chapatis back home with dal etc, here it was double – every meal. And kid you not – I did not feel bloated as well! The food was simply amazing be it Rajma chawal, or chicken curry, or kheer! Thanks to the long walks to Hartola side or further north from the market with good views nearby that we were able to digest all and be ready for the next meal of the day. May sound like a fairy tale but it’s rare that I write reviews as well, despite being an avid traveller. Sandeep and Gunjan are very heart-warming owners and made sure that everything was fine for us. And lastly, the lawn outside is a great place to simply sleep if weather is great or play cricket. Calm cottage is a magnificent place for the rejuvenation of entire family. It is an entirely new world where you fall in love with nature and don't want to return. The arrangements and amenities provided are excellent. Food is awesome and hygienic. Don't miss this great opportunity. Do visit calm cottages for a lifetime experience.

A small cozy place "calm cottages" is exactly as its name suggests. Nestled in d valley close to Nainital, this place was different than the other commercial ones around. It had the perfect blend of homeliness and professional service. The cottages are designed and decorated with lot of care and aesthetics by sandeep and gunjan. The prompt service by the boys dinesh and Harinder was icing on d cake. An awsm new year with chilling temp was all v wanted to experience. Lovely plums and peaches orchards ( ofcourse we cud not ecp in winters) to be experienced in summers Would definitely like to go their again in summers this time. God bless this place and sandeep and Gunjan for their hard work and passion.
