Whenever I'm in PR visiting family, I usually stay at this hotel as it's always the best option for me in terms of location, amenities, comfort-level, and food (the food here is always delicious). You'll see I've reviewed this hotel a couple of times prior here on TripAdvisor. I was recently in PR for a family event and stayed here during Hurricane Fiona. Here are the pros and cons of my recent experience. PROS: As always, the customer service is excellent, from the check-in/out staff, maid service, bar and food service staff. The hotel is also very clean. Again, I was there during the hurricane and the day Fiona hit the island lost power (as usual) but Courtyard's back-up generators kicked in in under a minute and continued on when I left 2 days later. Service at the restaurants and bars slowed a bit during the time of the hurricane but that's to be expected as they were working with limited staff. And speaking of the staff, the ones that stayed throughout the hurricane were fantastic! They remained friendly and helpful the entire time, though I know they were working really hard to accommodate everyone during a very trying time. CONS: This is no fault of the hotel but still worth mentioning to other travelers, I believe. This trip I noticed the class of some of the guests seemed "different" from previous times I've stayed here. Usually, the Marriott's guests are a bit more classy as is a reflection of the Marriott. Not so much this time. The room next to mine had marijuana smokers smoking in their room for 3 of the 5 nights I stayed there. The odor was strong and wafted into my room. I am not a smoker of any kind and hate the smell of cigarette or marijuana smoke. I did not bother to call the front desk to complain due to it being a hurricane. That could've possibly turned into an altercation that I did not want security to have to deal with under the circumstances, as they clearly would not be able to put them out if push came to shove. Also, one day there was a very loud argument in one of the rooms across the hall from mine. Last, I witnessed some 20-somethings mostly being ignorant; loud talking/cussing on a cell phone by the outdoor bar outside, then one of them having to be walked up to her room due to over-intoxication. Again, these are no fault of the Marriott, but they are worth mentioning to other travelers to be aware of. Overall, I'd stay here again but these may be issues for management to be aware of. I stayed during hurricane season so it's possible the rates were lower than usual because it's the low season but I'd rather spend the extra $ to have a more pleasant stay.

Hotel's Favourite
Check in was easy and we received our room keys immediately. We were a group of 30 with over 10 rooms and not one of us had an issue. The staff at the bar were AMAZING!! Especially the pool bar staff :) They would have our drinks ready before we walked over. We had dinner and lunch there on many days and the food was delicious. Breakfast was included but we always slept in. Our room was cleaned daily and always spotless. The hotel has a great feeling of being at an all-inclusive and is a beautiful resort. Only downside was I lost $200 at the casino :( We will all definitely come back next summer.

This Courtyard is awesome. The staff is second to none. No matter whether it was housekeeping or at restaurant they always make you feel like number 1. I want to give a special shout out to Michael. He was our server for breakfast. Always attentive and great service. I always say you get what you pay for and this hotel the service far outweighs whatever you are paying. Also they have everything, pool, hot-tub, casino(all slots are a penny), great food and right on the beach. Although we wound up being there during Hurricane Fiona they never missed a beat. This is my go to hotel when in Puerto Rico!!!!!

We were a group of 9, the rooms were great! Very nice house keeping staff and loved the zumba instructor. Everyone else at this resort was very rude and not friendly, especially the guy at the pool bar. We had coupons We got when we first arrived, he told us that we better tell him what we wanted because he was about to close, mind you, it was noon! We ordered but he didn't close, he was opened all afternoon. The lobby staff was not nice either, I will not be returning to this place.

The noise. We were placed in room 1022. Checked in on a Friday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night there was a wedding that had music so incredibly loud I could not put my AirPods up high enough in our room to drown it out. The bass alone vibrated the bed. As an added bonus, after the music, whooping, hollering and partying stopped at 11pm, the party continued at the beach club next door into the morning hours. Add to that the super loud planes taking off and you basically get the idea. Staff full well KNOW this is an issue but they will sign that wedding contract every single time at YOUR expense of being able to enjoy your own stay that you paid a good amount for. Your guest experience is not their concern when they make money on an event and your room rate. Know that going in, no matter what canned reply they post here as a response. Don't believe them, nothing will change. I suggest demanding a room on the other side of the building to have a chance to not be forced to take part in every event they book without even being invited for food, drink, or even a dance. The food was awful, all of it, and expensive. The rooms were updated, but not clean. Our carpet was sticky (shudder), with visible stains. The extra blanket in the closet was dry rotted and unusable. The pool area is small and unclean. I pointed out a dead baby bird to a lady cleaning tables and she indicated she would "call someone" who never came. My husband ended up getting one of the laminated menus and removing two dead baby birds on his own. The chicken bone in the middle of the walkway was passed by several times by employees. I could go on. I will say the employees were nice enough, but that's really all that was redeeming about this place. If we go back we will be staying elsewhere.

The rooms were nice in size and staff were kind. The food was horrible, drinks were expensive and the pool was extremely small for the size of the hotel. Because it’s a small pool, it was packed everywhere in the pool and areas making it not enjoyable at all. We knew that it was close to the airport so the unbelievably loud planes wasn’t quite as a shock as the paper thin walls. You could hear a mouse fart in the other rooms. The worst part is that at 5pm the staff remove all the beach chairs and umbrellas. 18% resort fee for what??? Absolutely ridiculous!

After a very difficult year of hard work I was looking forward to coming on a great vacation and spending a week at the Marriott courtyard in Isla Verde. My sister who is an associate for over 20 years had requested a room change because the mattress in our room was hard as a rock. In addition we were placed in a room where the scenery was the machinery that keeps the hotel going. All night we heard constant generators going off. When my sister requested a room change the manager Edwin class was very condescending and did not treat an associate with the respect that she should have been treated with. instead of fixing the solution he said if you don’t like it and you’re not happy we can return your money and you could leave rather than trying to rectify the situation. I also mentioned to him that we are from the island and loved visiting our home but we were dismayed in the manner in which we were treated. While we were speaking to Mr. Class he told us I am no longer going to discuss the matter I will no longer make any more comments on the situation which I believe is extremely rude for paying customers. Extremely disappointed!

Our group of 10 (5 moms and 5 graduating high school seniors) stayed at Courtyard Marriott for 4 nights. The hotel was perfect for us. It was clean, the beach and pool area was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and professional. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced by the pool area and delicious. The only thing that stopped me from giving a 5 star rating was that the rooms were not cleaned daily and when clean towels were requested they did not come. Otherwise, our experience was perfect!

Beautiful property and beach but would not return and stay here again. Most of the staff should learn to treat everyone the same. I felt that I was treated differently because I was Hispanic. Lets start of with our 1st day, we get down to the breakfast restaurant at 10:40am we go to order from the menu and the waitress tells me the kitchen closes at 10:40 so we would have to eat from the buffet (which was horrible by the way). My issue is that another family came in and was seated at around 10:55 and they let them order of the menu and got a full breakfast. I asked the waitress why could they do it and her response was they where her before you, I wasn't even going to argue with her. Then we go outside to spend the day on the beach at the hotel. I would say there were maybe 5 other families on the beach and the waiter came around getting drink and food orders from everyone on the beach every time he would completely go past us and not ask if we needed anything even when I tried to call him over he just walked and ignored us. So I went over to the gentleman if he could take my wife a menu so we could order lunch and drinks, he said sure I will take it over to her and he never came back to us. When I asked him what happened he just shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. We ended up leaving for lunch at the bakery down the street which had amazing sandwiches. After that 1st day we did not spend anymore time in the hotel, we would get up and leave to different beaches and to explore the island. Last day before leaving we decide lets stay on the beach one last day and man it does not fail, the guy that puts out chairs and umbrellas for you treated us like crap also. My wife wanted to get chairs put out in front of the water he refused and told us to use what was out so I said ok that is fine, then I asked him for a 2nd umbrella and he tells me no only one per room. So I tell him how come others have 2-3 umbrellas and he said I don't know. He then tells me I can put another one for you for $10.00. I told him why didn't you say that from the beginning. So I paid for it and gave him a $3 tip and still gave all the other rude staff at least a 20% tip. I paid over $3000 for 6 days and was pissed of every time I was at the hotel, which is a shame because it truly is a nice hotel. Last time we came we stood at the Royal Sonesta (former Intercontinental) they treated every one with the upmost respect.
